I've been watching this since I was 11/13 . I always loved Kings reaction in the first 40 seconds of the song and basically the whole song. It's hard to explain, but King looked at Steve like he was his own son. I love this song so much. Every version. I am 24 now.
I was fortunate to see SRV open for Robert Plant and the Honeydrippers. It was a couple years after rehab and he was on fire. I personally thought SRV and Double Trouble out performed Robert Plant that night. One of those shows that is stuck in my mind. I never saw a more energetic and dedicated guitarist, pure magic.
This is the first thing I ever saw from Stevie. And I only watched because Albert was in here. I remember thinking “Who the heck is this guy and why is he dressed all crazy like that” Then he began playing with that intensity and all my preconceived negative notions of him immediately went away. I was too proud to admit it to myself at the time but this was unlike anything I had ever heard before. That’s all I thought of it. Occasionally I would come back and listen to it, thinking I was listening for Albert, but I came to my senses and realized that it was Stevie who was calling me back. I looked him up and found out he was no longer with us and I was so sad. I have listened to Stevie EVERY single day of my life since I discovered him. Truly discovered him. May god rest his soul
Albert King: "What's your name, son?" Stevie Ray Vaughn: "Stevie Ray Vaughn, sir." Albert King: "Well, look here, 'Stevie Ray Vaughn.' You're the only white boy in this world who's got yourself a black Papa...and I'M HIM!"
@@sendmeyourlocation1145 I meant no disrespect. I was paying my respects to both of them. Stevie Ray sayd that when Albert King met him and heard him play, that's what he said to him.
Amazing duo! I was born in 1983 and I’m into heavy rock but for some reason i wanted to understand the art of simply instruments. This is amazing. I tried to be in an orchestra in Jr high and now I’m back to my roots of enjoying all instruments!
My dad literally blew out the speakers in his pick up truck rolling up to our house after he got off work playing this song and Red House by Hendrix. Such fantastic memories :))
The only guitarist whoever fell into his guitar everytime he played, Stevie. Not to ever take anything away from Mr. King, but Mr. Vaughn could have had the building fall down around him, and I really don't think he would have noticed...
Rââââ, c'est trop bon. Ze good époque quand t'avais la chance d'assister aux concerts de ces pointures, quel pied. Aujourd'hui, ça me prend toujours aux tripes. Soit ça me porte aux cieux, soit ça file envie de chialer. Mais tu ne peux pas être indifférent.
I'm in year 8 and our music teacher did a lesson on Stevie and most of the class was saying this is shit and asking our teacher to put on the selfie song or shake it off. how sad. R.I.P Stevie Ray Vaughan
I remember the first time I heard this... Well you've heard about love givin' sight to the blind My baby's lovin' cause the sun to shine She's my sweet little thing, she's my pride and joy She's my sweet little baby, I'm her little lover boy Yeah I love my baby, my heart and soul Love like ours won't never grow old She's my sweet little thing, she's my pride and joy She's my sweet little baby, I'm her little lover boy Yeah I love my baby, she's long and lean You mess with her, you'll see a man gettin' mean She's my sweet little thing, she's my pride and joy She's my sweet little baby, I'm her little lover boy Well I love my baby like the finest wine Stick with her until the end of time She's my sweet little thing, she's my pride and joy She's my sweet little baby, I'm her little lover boy Yeah I love my baby, my heart and soul Love like ours will never grow old She's my sweet little thing, she's my pride and joy She's my sweet little baby, I'm her little lover boy

I know I am late, but srv and king have such a mean sound to their guitars.

Music Today come close. This is MUSIC 🎶

Had no idea Albert wasn't playing with a pick. As a guitarist myself and doing those licks WITHOUT a pick is pure masterclass!
Still listening 2022
look at mr king buzzin' on this, beautiful
Stevie: this things called pride and joy
Albert: Pride and joy, give me some of that.
Albert: haha pride and joy
My brother saw Stevie Ray Vaughn at The Blues Festival in Mississippi in 1984!!!! I wish I had gone with them that day..... One of my biggest regrets
Nothing better than Stevie Ray Vaughan and Albert King jamming together. Thanks!
Love what Albert adds to this Stevie Ray standard.
Albert's smooth! 😁Thanks.
How do people give this thumbs down? This should have 0 thumbs down
Albert King: "What's your name, son?"
Stevie Ray Vaughn: "Stevie Ray Vaughn, sir."
Albert King: "Well, look here, 'Stevie Ray Vaughn.' You're the only white boy in this world who's got yourself a black Papa...and I'M HIM!"
welp
*VAUGHAN*
I mean i get it u like Albert but SRV is the son of a guitar man he's a school by himself don't disrespect my boy like this

"Give me some ...."
Legendary
I had the pleasure of seeing Stevie Ray in action!
Me too, thank you Lord before you called him home!
Black and white touching my soul
The pianist, bassist and drummer also did an amazing job on this one. In the album version there is no piano, but man it sounds great here.
The world would be greatly more impoverished if this session had never taken place.
To one of the best ever, rest in peace. Your music and your legacy will forever live on.
I'm still alive. But thanks mate
I have this LP. Original press. New stylus. It is a great LP.
Whoever dislike the song has no taste or knowledge of where today's music comes from
I didn’t even notice that Albert King was playing his guitar upside down...
she's my sweet little thing....she's my pride and joy
she's my sweet little baby....i'm her little lover boy
Pride and Joy! One of Stevie Ray Vaughan's best songs! I love it!
My dad literally blew out the speakers in his pick up truck rolling up to our house after he got off work playing this song and Red House by Hendrix.
Such fantastic memories :))
Love To Hear about memories. That's a great thing!!!!
The only guitarist whoever fell into his guitar everytime he played, Stevie. Not to ever take anything away from Mr. King, but Mr. Vaughn could have had the building fall down around him, and I really don't think he would have noticed...
The face of Albert King at 0:18 to 0:34 is priceless, he is enjoying that more than me !! hahaha!!!
The GOAT
I just sit in awe! Truly a gift from god to play an instrument like that!
Two bad m'frs...
This song was one f the major reasons why I fell in love with SRV :')

Looks like a lefty to me the controls are on the bottom
Anybody know who the piano player is on this recording?
This sounds so weird when in standard tuning.
SRV : it's called 'pride and joy'
A.King : _____________
what does say A.king ?
more or less ''pride and joy... give me some here (maybe)''
