I remember dancing with my Daddy to Jive Talkin', standing on top of his feet, in our kitchen. I was 4 when the song came out. I have pics of my Daddy dressed in his white "Bee Gees suit." He would wear it and take my Mom out dancing. He died in 2014, but my memories are sometimes so closely tied to music, that a song can take me straight back to the moment. I'll always adore the Bee Gees and thank them for all the memories.

The Bee Gees are simply the best of their age, bar none, even the Beatles. I was 17 in 1967, and going through the usual teenage boy problems. Just then, the Bee Gees’ first great hits we’re coming out. Like Massachusetts, Words, To Love Somebody, and all their other great early songs. As a usual teenager, I had my share of broken hearts and loneliness around my teens, and later, and then one of their early hits would come on the radio. Their songs would always hit that spot in my heart that hurt the most, and I would always feel better afterward, even though whatever was breaking my heart at the time was still the same. Their music had a healing effect on my soul then, which no other group had, and it still does. even to this day. It’s hard to explain. The Beatles were great, too, of course, but they were just all about being funny and having fun. Their music never touched me the way The Bee Gees did, and still do.
Paul Crosby beautifully put, and I agree, their music was around, during my childhood and teen years, and just made my emotions come alive. They were great songwriters and people. Still love their music, so many good memories. This series on their music is great !
But...as much as it's difficult to name just one... there's one song that rips my heart...the one song and the story behind it...the song the boys just couldn't get through in person...the song they had originally attempted to record that literally had all three guys dissolving into tears...so much so, that they had to stop the recording session...left the studio and didn't return for a very long time. That song is "Wish You Were Here"...such a hauntingly beautiful but heartwrenchingly painful one for each brother through that they'd collectively written as a tribute to their baby brother "Andy"...whom had literally aken a piece of each of his brothers hearts with him that fateful day in 1988....and I'm crying...I think it is the most beautiful composed song in their entire collection simply due to the story behind it that they'd never in a million years anticipated ever happening....so very painful that in concert they just put up a montage of Andy's life allowing the song to play as a bed to accompany Baby Andy's life. The boys just stand quietly transfixed on stage with Andy's image flashing across the huge screen above them..such an unforgettable moment in their performing career.
LOl, omg, are you kidding me? I simply loved the BEEG's! I remember, it was my thirteenth birthday. Everybody had something to do. So my mom took me with her to her friends house. Her daughter felt sorry that I got stuck with my mom on my birthday, lol. So she took me to see this movie she heard about with Johnny Travolta. I tell you, it was one of the best birthdays I had. I couldn't stop rocking to the BEEG's music. I came out of the theater literally dancing! I went out and brought the sound track, and have been a huge fan ever since. I was saddened greatly, when Andy died so young. When the other two brothers, died I felt horrible for Barry. I K that feeling of being the last one alive. God bless him, and may he live to be a hundred and twenty. His brothers and his music lives on in my home and in my heart.

I can remember my younger sister ask me if I wanted to go see the bee gees in person at the Dodger stadium in 1979 I said yes it was un believable we stood up through their concert it was so much fun and to be with other people who came see the bee gees in person
I drove, with 3 friends, from Phoenix, Az to see them at Dodgers stadium in 79! It was awesome, so many people there, elbow to elbow and I don't think that there were any problems, like fighting. Today, fighting seems to be the norm at concerts that are at an outdoor venue. It was a Great concert!!

I don’t have a favourite Bee Gees song. There is too many epic songs to choose from!

But...as much as it's difficult to name just one... there's one song that rips my heart...the one song and the story behind it...the song the boys just couldn't get through in person...the song they had originally attempted to record that literally had all three guys dissolving into tears...so much so, that they had to stop the recording session...left the studio and didn't return for a very long time. That song is "Wish You Were Here"...such a hauntingly beautiful but heartwrenchingly painful one for each brother through that they'd collectively written as a tribute to their baby brother "Andy"...whom had literally aken a piece of each of his brothers hearts with him that fateful day in 1988....and I'm crying...I think it is the most beautiful composed song in their entire collection simply due to the story behind it that they'd never in a million years anticipated ever happening....so very painful that in concert they just put up a montage of Andy's life allowing the song to play as a bed to accompany Baby Andy's life. The boys just stand quietly transfixed on stage with Andy's image flashing across the huge screen above them..such an unforgettable moment in their performing career.

LOl, omg, are you kidding me? I simply loved the BEEG's! I remember, it was my thirteenth birthday. Everybody had something to do. So my mom took me with her to her friends house. Her daughter felt sorry that I got stuck with my mom on my birthday, lol. So she took me to see this movie she heard about with Johnny Travolta. I tell you, it was one of the best birthdays I had. I couldn't stop rocking to the BEEG's music. I came out of the theater literally dancing! I went out and brought the sound track, and have been a huge fan ever since. I was saddened greatly, when Andy died so young. When the other two brothers, died I felt horrible for Barry. I K that feeling of being the last one alive. God bless him, and may he live to be a hundred and twenty. His brothers and his music lives on in my home and in my heart.

they are such a staple in music history!! Absolutely amazing!! ALL of them - I love how easily Robin makes the writing process because he was so blessed as a writer it probably just flowed through him- so tragic Andy,Mo & Robin are gone my childhood is filled with music memories from all of them ❤️

I can remember my younger sister ask me if I wanted to go see the bee gees in person at the Dodger stadium in 1979 I said yes it was un believable we stood up through their concert it was so much fun and to be with other people who came see the bee gees in person

I drove, with 3 friends, from Phoenix, Az to see them at Dodgers stadium in 79!
It was awesome, so many people there, elbow to elbow and I don't think that there were any problems, like fighting. Today, fighting seems to be the norm at concerts that are at an outdoor venue. It was a Great concert!!
