To have a stadium that large chanting at you to hit a home run, in a return to your home country, and then actually deliver with a home run? Absolutely legendary!! Matsui was always such a clutch hitter - I miss seeing him play.

Same, same... One of the best Yankees of that period, I wish he'd get more love from the organization... I'm not saying retire 55 but give him a plaque at least

Matsui felt he betrayed his fans when he left for MLB. Well, he got stadium full of fans chanting, “Home run, Matsui❤” that’s your answer to your wonder, Hideki 🥰 We love you❤️❤️❤️❤️🩷🙏 Thank you for your hard work and allowing us to see the dream come true through you. You make all of us proud 🇯🇵
