Fare value gap is a rehashed term, originally single print.

Are there any others terms that are rehashed like this ?
Smc people talk big with confusing terms.

They are similar but not identical. FVGs can be on anytimeframe, while single prints are on the 30 minute timeframe. So a 30 min FVG is a single print.

Singles are a Market Profile term in regard to TPO charts - Similar yes, but not the same. Nobody is going to look at a 5 minute chart and say “Those are single prints!” where there is an FVG…

It's also called imbalance. That ict guy just repackaged and sold well documented price action knowledge.

@@Molekulasti could you point me to the original source please? I want to learn from that instead.

By trading from the end of the FVG, you are trading from the order block with imbalance or OBIM.

Is there any criteria to draw the Volume profile or are you drawing it randomly ?

Every low volume node is a FVG. I learned this about a year and a half ago.

Every "leg-to-leg" LVN is an FVG. However, most profile traders are not looking at volume profile on such a granular level. They are using profiles to view the day or week as a whole. Personally, I find the daily profile to not offer much edge in the way that I trade. I much prefer fixed range volume profiles, or leg-to-leg profiles to identify micro volume nodes. These micro nodes offer excellent opportunities to catch the current/short/intermediate trend.

Seems very similar to the open drive confirmation. Im curious if the end of the FVG could be used as a take profit

Thank you, Dale! How often this "Fair Value Gap + Volume Profile" combo appears in trading the MNQ futures during the US Market? Can it be used in scalping? Appreciate it.

Staristically, most FVGs get "run." Why? Because they were areas of low volume buy/sell interest. WHERE was the more significant buy/sell volume interest, connected with a particular FVG? AT EITHER END. That explains why it is more likely to completely fill the gap, at some point.

    • @TraderDale1

Because at the beginning of the FVG there is a lot of buying activity that moves the market in some direction. Then on a pullback, they are likely to want to trade that buying activity again.

Hello. Thank you for the video. Do you wait for some kind of confirmation, like candle close above / below after the first touch or do you go in right at the touch?

Can anyone explain to me, how is the FVG valid? As it is timeframe sensitive. If you find one on the 30m chart then drop down to the 5m then all the candles within might meet and there is no FVG 🤷🏼‍♂️

idea is that u want to find the HTF FVG. Then go down to the lower time frame to find confluences and/or a confirmation model. Thats how i do it anyway

Please don’t do this. There is nothing a candle pattern can show you that you can’t see on a suitable volume profile. If you really must, use the terminology from the century old source material, guys like Dunnigan, Wyckoff and even Gann (Gann’s price action stuff not the esoteric).
SMC takes tried and true techniques (some a century or so old) and obfuscates them.
