Great video. The double click lock is for people like me that carry the light in my pocket and find the light came on in my pocket 😊. Also I like where the battery charger is, as it seems like more protection from dust and water. Found the rubber cover gets loose after a while. Thanks again for a quality video!
Charging via an external port covered by a rubber flap has pros and cons. Even though it’s more convenient to charge, flap can degrade overtime decreasing moisture resistance as well as allowing dirt and other debris to get into the port.
After owing a flashlight with an external charging port with a rubber cover, I will not buy another. I prefer having this method or as on the Fenix TK 20 v2.
My favorite light brand. Thanks for the upload. I have quite a few of them. If you want a couple of opinions on what to get next, the HT18 is excellent for throw, the PD36R is perfect all around, the PD35 V3 is superb for all conditions, shoot, just get all of them. Especially their smaller pocket lights. The ONLY one so far I still can't like and ended up selling is the PD40R series lights they make. Other than that, Fenix is absolutely awesome..
This is my first experience with your channel. Terrific job! I’ve been using CR123 powered flashlights but I recently got an inexpensive Feyachi 18650 flashlight and it’s very impressive; even came with a pressure switch tail cap. Surefire? No, but it’s still working so that’s something. From cordless power tools I’ve just learned about the 21700 battery and wondering if anybody was making a flashlight for it. This was a great learning experience.
Fenix makes awesome lights. I have the PD36-TAC and I love it....it is an amazing light. I also have the HM65-R headlamp, and that thing is simply incredible with the light available and the runtimes (and it's super comfortable on the head too once you get it adjusted). Got the E35 V3 for the girlfriend as a gift for an EDC but haven't given it to her yet.....the specs and features on it are really ideal for an every day light.
Not a flashlight aficionado, but just bought this. The intructions are printed microscopically tiny, but you can download a pdf. The lens seems to have some type of frosting/diffusing on it. I assume it's supposed to be like that? Wondering why the on/off switch is on the side vs. on the tail cap, as it would seem that it would be more difficult to turn on by accident if the power switch was on the tailcap? Seems to be well made. I have had great experiences with SureFire products, however the SureFire tactical light that I like is twice as expensive as this. Lots of positive comments online about Fenix flashlights.
Hi James. I found your channel recently and already love it. Please keep up the great work! So for question, I just want to know what kind of device you use to record your video ?
I carry an earlier model pd35 on my haversack (it rides in a pistol mag molle attachment, fits perfectly) i need to upgrade to a cable rechargeable battery model. I assume the unscrew and charge battery directly is supposed to help with water resistance
Hey James, I've been busy moving the last several months, and off grid. Just thought I'd drop by and catch this video real quick since I'm in cell range. I'm on my second Fenix light now. My first one a UC35 I've had several years and still going strong. My second one is a TK20R. I'm not a big fan of the rubber plug, but I can't seem to kill the rest of the flashlight. I'd like to see a more secure cover for the charging port, like maybe a thread on cap. But off topic, I thought I'd mention the moccasins from Moccasins Canada I've been enjoying for a while now. Thought you might like to check them out. Got the idea from Ryan Gill on "Hunt Primitive". You might like his channel if you haven't seen it already. Take care. My boots are constantly dirty right now. Back off grid I go.
Isn't that lockout feature to prevent you burning your trousers when you carry it? Accidentally having a flashlight turn on and overheat in your pants is not a thing of joy. Don't ask me how I know.
Good review. I've carried Fenix flashlights forever, they're extremely tough, reliable lights. I agree that the 50 lumen eco mode is not nearly low enough, you definitely don't want to be searching for something you dropped in a room with someone else sleeping using 50 lumens. 3k turbo mode is insane though.
Light is bright but the button and lockout feature isn't good. If light is bouncing around in the bag, it will unlock and turn on, and in high mode, it will start a fire. My buddys tool bag started smoking and melting with the light on. NOT GOOD!
From my experience with this light, more candela would make this light nearly perfect. The spill is just too wide and bright. IMO. Works like a flood light. Should throw just a little better.
Yikes.... $70 via the dealer (see the above link) and $75 from Amazon!! James, you work for the Government or Fenix?? Thant's a powerful amount of money for a "back up" or EDC flashlight!! What'cha got in the $35-$40 range???
Schlechte Teststrecke, man kann die Leuchtweite überhaupt nicht einschätzen. Die Bedienung ist umständlich und unübersichtlich. Zum laden muss man aufschrauben und das Glas ist nicht geschützt. Vergiss sie
Love that you’ve finally got your hands on a Fenix, love these lights
hopefully they like this review and send me anoither model soon, i wouldnt mind a giveaway
i love the way you can see all the lights in the distance in the background out in the desert at night

you definitely havea point there
Exactly, I would certainly pay extra NOT to have the external charging port. Especially since the battery last for so long.
+ you can use the light with another battery while the first one is charging.
After owing a flashlight with an external charging port with a rubber cover, I will not buy another. I prefer having this method or as on the Fenix TK 20 v2.
Both have pros and cons. Both will work.
Great stuff brother! Seems like Fenix makes good lights. I love the look of this one
I have a Fenix I found at work . My wife and I love it out in the desert and at home . Holds a great charge. Great show .
this is my frist fenix and i gotta say, im impressed!
What light did you find model?
Agreed, classy light. The lockout is about it not running low and also getting very hot in your pocket. It's not a child lock!
My favorite light brand. Thanks for the upload.

The Tarantula looked a bit confused. It seemed like it forgot its license and registration.
I do like this one. Worth every Nickel. Good one James.

I dig the flashlight, but the tarantula wins the day!

Thanks for the info! hoping to test out a few more fenix lights soon
Best flashlights for the money on the market I have about 8 different ones. My favorite it the LD30
I’m. Picking up my first fenix soon but not sure what to get. What makes the LD 30 your favorite?
You should check out the Fenix UC35 v2.0 USB charging and 1/50/150/350/1000 lumen modes are great lighting steps.
Cool Video 👍
Thank U for the Info and the Links 👍
A Must have....

I use a Wowtac... works pretty good for me...
But, this one ain't bad!
Hi James. I found your channel recently and already love it. Please keep up the great work!
So for question, I just want to know what kind of device you use to record your video ?
If you had a spare battery that would be kinda cool. You can leave it on charge while you still have use of your flashlight.
James nice flashlight review
I carry an earlier model pd35 on my haversack (it rides in a pistol mag molle attachment, fits perfectly) i need to upgrade to a cable rechargeable battery model. I assume the unscrew and charge battery directly is supposed to help with water resistance
I never get enough of flashlights haha
Awesome to too a Fenix on the channel! Hopefully the first of many. :)
I love fenix

thansk for stopping by! hope all is well, my friend!
Just bought one online.
That place looks exactly like where I live out in the morongo basin

oh damn, i didnt know that, well, good to know
Very Convenient Travel Size 🔦.
😂😂😂the spider stops
Can you flip the tube around to reverse the clip?
No
not a bad light for the money, good review
You would like the PD36R more. Low 30LM, battery charge port on flashlight body.
intersting, if fenix is still intersted in working with me, i may ask them for this one
It costs more though. Both are pretty good
Nice show and tell there on that flashlight 🔦 JY 🦊 bright light 💡 also 3000 lum for a strobe that got a blind 👨🦯 somebody 👍👌✌️🔦🇺🇸
Very nice

i nitpick a bit but overall its a fantastic light!

If i came across that spider, i wouldn't need my e35v3. The flames coming off my feet would be plenty bright.
240 meters😮👍
🤔🤔🤔 is it CUERVO approved 🤔🤔🤔
What's it's cost in Indian rupee
I would pay extra to NOT have a external usb any day!
Both have pros and cons
Great light but it can and will burn a hole through your pants if accidentally activated. I burned two pairs of ripstop pants. : (
Dang. Be careful

if youre looking for a great light for 40 bucks, i cannot reccomend this one enough ,my favorite light ever ruclips.net/video/eJQRWvux7n0/видео.html
@@JunkyardFox Thanks my friend.
It's worth the price fenix is asking.
Charging fail.
Hi I want to be godly man it so much a struggle u are a blissful man thank you.
👍👍👍🦊
think turbo is just a gimmick
i dotn think so, im definitely glad to have turbo mode when out in the boonies late at night and something goes bump in the night.
Turbo def not a gimmick. It's useful.
Flap is no good the door breaks off they all do eventually. No that it is a year later fill us in my friend.
ive had some flashlights with these rubber flaps, soem of them ive owned for over 5 years and theyve never once broken off.
@@JunkyardFox Good deal never owned a Fenix till now. Quality..
