Matangi ( The exiled or lower-cast goddess )

I meditate on Goddess Matangi , the personification of Mother . Sitting on a throne of jewels, She is listening to the sweet sounds of parrots . The color of Her body is dark . She has one foot on a lotus, and She uses a half moon on her head. Using a garland of flower buds, She touches the strings of a vina . It covers Her body with a blouse and a red sari. In Her hand is one made of a shell bowl. Her face is a light and sweet Perfume 's charming, and a red dot shines on Her forehead.
Matangi, the exiled or lower-cast goddess, also called "Chandalini", is a Goddess belonging to lowest caste and tirbal traditions in Hinduism. But, she is considered as a Tantric Goddess, chief of speech or power of the spoken words, Arts and Music and all Siddha-Vidyas(accomplished knowledge) or perfect and supreme knowledge.
She is also associated with forest, birds and animals, wilderness and hinting. She is consider as a daughter of Matang Muni or Sage Matang and who makes married life happier and wealthfull. She also allies with those who prefer polluted or leftover food, which has already been eaten by someone else.
Virtually she arises from the leftover food or "Uchistha" of Shiva and Parvati. Offering of her should be polluted or Uchistha of devotee or worshiper, it should be in the state of being rotten, having eaten or not washed. She is worshiped by Lord Vishnu in ancient era, as a result he is with good-luck, happier, glowing and higher position. No fasting is required, it is a reversed protocol against the usual worship of Gods in Hinduism.
She is strongly related to magical powers, specially the supernatural power related to drawing up control over others or enemies by speech or talking. Goddess Matangi is also associated with the tribal society and nature. She is also worshiped in Buddhism, not from the beginning of Buddhism, but later they realized the Goddess Matangi as Matagiri.
She came to be known as one who has great magical power, as in a tale of "Prakriti". She is also known as Uchhista, Saam Mohini, Laghu Shyama, Raj Matangi, Vasya Matanig, Chanda Matangi, Karna Matangi, Shadamnayasadhya, Sumukhi Matangi. Rati, Priti, Manobhava, Kriya, Shudha, Anang Kusuma, Anang Madana and Madana lasa is her eight powers.

Usually I discovered matangi maa , she likes every food healthy , sour , spicy and even wasted food also !! I like it very much , she will take it lovingly what you offer her with love and devotion. She will be very happy even if you have nothing but praising her with love and devotion. I remembered my grandmother , her name was matangimayi , she loved me very much , inside a large banayan tree we laughed and grandma tells me story and I sleeping in her lap. We often steal biscuit and cakes in kitchen hahaha good memories still in mind ! I call her "amma" when I was little , but sadly I lost my matangi devi when I was at the age of 20. Amma where ever you live , stay happy there ,

Its ironic, I’m currently reading the book Awakening Shakti, and so every couple of days I find myself working on another goddess. Today was Kali’s week and somehow the more I listened to the mantras for Kali the more I ‘wasn’t feeling it.’ Lo an behold I thought I was playing a mantra for Kali and alll of sudden within minutesI began to feel a lightness in my home. The air seemed brighter. The stove was shiny. Its hard to describe but even my skin felt lighter on my body. So I ran tot he computer to see what was playing and it was this mantra. After reading more about Matangi I feel as though she was waiting to be called.

I am gonna say it here, SHE KNOWS! A new pant of mine was burnt as a part of a ritual 3 years ago but it still won't go out of my mind. It was bought in 2010 or maybe 2009 before I went to hospital in 2011 where I celebrated none nor shopped for none that year. So that pant bought a couple of years ago, was a new pant but never wore so when in 2014, there was an acquaintance's housewarming ceremony. There was a calling for trance of a guardian deity in a woman. There I had bowed before the trance; i.e.asked to hinder my bodily pain and the women in trance or the deity in disguise, by usage of limes did some rituals, THEN FINALLY I WAS ASKED TO BURN MY CLOTH whereby in Tamil the trance said "maelaadai" means the T-shirt I wore or as I was perplexed, I rushed home, a street earlier from the acquaintance's street. I soaked the pant in soap water to be washed or else my mother was adamant in burning that too. It got wet but still she asked me to bring it and when the fire got bigger (she were already burning the T-shirt) there she put the pant too in. I am kinda stoned, silent. It could have been smeared with a little turmeric water if it was really beholding of the dark thing that it so called had. It may then be washed and be given to those scrap metal collectors that wear torn clothes, themselves. At least it is still there. Someone is using it. But no, the pant was burned. It was a chalky white in colored pant. It was a perfect fit when I wore it earlier that day out of my closet. Normally, even new pants will feel odd but that one, not. I somehow forgot about the pant. Last year during internship in a garments, exactly the same pant, a new stock came in, I got literally messed up in my mind. Exactly the same brand, color, with varied sizes. And couple of days ago noticed, my father is also having the same pant with a more bigger waist size. Let me clarify, I'm not at all materialistic but something is really bothering me about that pant. I even bought some more new pants after that and even got them donated, some of it which I find them got smaller. I am such a person that doesn't like to waste buying clothes and use something to its max and when it gets worn, then buying a new one will do. I'm a simpleton. I felt literally very bad for allowing that to happen and for the past one week, seldom there would be some wordly sparks between my mother and I on why were she adamant in burning it and a kinda regressive anger on why did I even gave in when she asked me to bring it? Why is that dilemma from that pant is resurfacing again and again? As mostly might say, it's just a pant. It may pose as if I am to be ungrateful and no, I Am Not. It could have been donated or at least used as rag cloth after cut. But no, it was bluntly burned. Two things. I decided not to buy anymore light colored or white colored or any other except black thereafter as a respect to that pant. Last but not the least, even a new saree is put (burned) in the yagya for Devi in of her many forms. When the pant was burned, I am unaware of Matangi Amma. But now I know, she is to accept it though I burned it with a heavy heart and even after some point I moved on, it resurfaced; the dilemma and the regressive wrath, maybe the only thing that calms me down is, thinking now as it's an offering to Matangi Amma. I have a big Papaya tree and a small one below it. Normally my leftover of food, which I couldn't finish I will recite HER name 3 times and put the food at the base of the tree. That Papaya tree is where Matangi Amma resides for me. All green is Matangi Amma. I believe and is the only relief for me, that the pant burned, is as offering to Matangi Amma now. Only that calms me down. I am sorry but it ruins my peace. All that is burned, done, wasted, finished, gone, rotted, etc all in my life prior or now, knowingly or unknowingly, even if I forget to offer to you Amma, Matangi, accept all of them and even my lost health; accept that too. PLEASE AMMA. I am waiting to the day that I myself will rot and reach you as offering. Oh Great Green Matangi Devi, my salutations to you Amma. You are the only one, that I may call and pray as I wish. You are the one that I can pray without being bound to any taboos nor contradictions or rules and regulations. Om Aim Matanginyai Namaha.
