This album is phenomenal. It’s a celebration of black women woven into dope lyrics, great beats, and spoken word. It’s one of the best albums that I’ve heard this year and it will continue to resonate as time passes.

Rapsody really outdid herself with this album. The concept of paying homage and celebrating black women is amazing and I’m here for it as a proud black men. Eve is easily one of my favorite albums of the year. Rapsody definitely is one of the best rappers of this generation.

Respectfully brother, I disagree. This has been done before but better.
      *edit
Not as a full album. Rapsody has conceptualized the power of multiple women on other tracks throughout her career, with better production, a clearer delineation, and crisper lyrics. Obviously this is subjective.
The idea that this is her "DAMN" escapes me, but I can see how the trend of conceptual albums eminate from the popularity of Kendrick Lamar and is in some way is being over done in the sense that people are more intrigued by the concept more than the execution.

I agree that "EVE" didn't hit me sonically the way "Laila's Wisdom" hit me. LW was an IMMEDIATE bop for me, while EVE is more thought-provoking but a little too "on the nose" for me. Don't get me wrong she has BARS FOR DAYS on this album! I get Missy Elliott, Jay-Z, and even Lauren Hill vibes throughout the tracks. However, LW has Anderson. Paak, GoldLink, Kendrick Lamar, and maybe Jay Rock vibes also. I feel like EVE was an album that has a good message but lacks replay value, while Laila's Wisdom is an album I can listen to anytime. AND I COMPLETELY DISAGREE, the production is WAY better in LW because it's more versatile (just my opinion, don't hate me please!)

I've tried over and over again to get into this album. I just can't get past first 5 songs. I'm just not interested as a listener. It's not about the content because I have no problem with that on other people's albums or in other forms of media. But from standpoint of delivery and production (and don't get me wrong it's great) the album is not resonate with me, not captivating my ear. I wish it would tho.

@@christopherjackman101 this is interesting analogy. Although I didn't exactly force myself to listen to TPAB. First time I listened it front to back and just didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. It took me probably a year to fully understand and appreciate what Kendrick did

Come on, Feefo . I'm fine with him not diggin it, but how could you not catch the bars and associative themes of the songs with these women ? I think this was a very well executed album . 9th also gave her a vibrant variety of colors to paint with .
In general, I don't know if we males are prepared for sophisticated worldview from a specific women's perspective . The very idea of a black woman is channelling the glorious spectrum strength wisdom and beauty of various black women examples is kinda like Chaka Khan's I'm Every Woman except it's stretched out over a whole album . As a black man I felt like I don't need to center myself in the music to resonate with it. I listen to this album and feel just proud honestly .

I agree with everything except the one point the lady made when she said society doesn’t judge men on how they’re dressed. If you wear your pants hanging below your butt and walking around with a ski mask, people won’t take you as serious someone who’s not dressed that way. And that’s their right. I don’t respect women who dress half naked. But I also don’t go my way to disrespect them either. I also feel the same way when brothas have their pants hanging halfway down their butt. Most things are conditional. And that’s fine. I can tolerate you. But I’m not obligated to celebrate you

Uhh.... isn’t Myke always the guy going on about how certain albums aren’t made for certain people?? I loved the album, but I can totally understand Feefo not connecting to it.
I may have loved Marvel’s Black Panther, but I can totally understand why a white friend of mine wouldn’t care for it. The themes of the film aren’t made for a white person, and if this friend of mine can’t get past that, I totally understand that.
Remember this: One person disliking something you like shouldn’t effect your feelings toward it.
EDIT: Basically, if he doesn’t connect to it, due to the album primarily being made for women, you should be able to understand that. It’s okay. It’s still a fantastic album.

    • @Stay_ClassyYT
      @Stay_ClassyYT 4 года назад

That's the right explanation comparison I've thought of why the views are fastly different of some people won't connect to the subject of it.
As long if an album like this or any type brings an important purpose to bring a better impact perspective to society, it does help to persuade to the right crowd of audience to learn. Except in some cases I think some people perfer a different side of view with a right audience that they may understand better to connect I think that'll make it understand better while not feel guilty by others. If that makes sense.
For me I haven't listened to Rapisody before as I don't really follow too much music too much. But the subject of how she features is helpful and important that does relate of believing yourself to the relation. But for me in order to connect better is hearing a male artist with the same concept as I believe with that alternative will make it sound better to gather information of it depending on the subject of course.

I think I might know what Feefo issue may be. Rapsody is transitioning from an underground sensation to now a mainstream artist with a major corporate push from RocNation that purest but be looking at sideways. She now being pushed to be the female rap spokesperson for the women's movement. And deserving so. She a positive image of a black woman the people want to see now. We have grow tired of hoes and strippers rapping about ratchedness. Now Rapsody represents a mainstream alternative for a mixed audience can enjoy. But the A list cosigns does seem manufactured but I'm happy for the come up and praise she getting because day 1's saw the potential early on and now she bearing fruit from just spitting dope barz. IMO.
