Kudos to you. I think by far this has been the best and most sensible take on the whole fiasco that's going around... I see people telling how irritated they feel that they have to keeping hearing such news and allegations on the daily news, and it shows how little our society cares about the general wellbeing of their fellow beings.. Not everything is a drama for public entertainment. These are social issues and it's high time the privileged feel the obligation to remove their blind folds and acknowledge the plight of others.
Archana, there is no corporate law forbidding consensual physical relationship between employees irrespective of varying powers ! At workplace there is law, outside there is none! The issue here is purely usage of power to exploit based on gender, experience, social hierarchy etc. It's a much more greyer area than we think. Majority are never coerced into doing this. Due to centuries old social and mental conditioning some of the ‘exploited’ resign themselves to the commonly accepted norms and consider it ‘normal’ to seek favors from their superiors and vice versa ! What is needed is widespread awareness of one's rights and the support by the legal system in addition to the emotional awareness that you spoke about. However it does not stop there, what if the moral conscience needle of both the consensual partners exhort them to continue engaging in act despite all awareness and education. Nothing can stop that !
Evidence doesn't wait for anyone. The sooner you can report it the better , otherwise you chances of proving your allegations gets really low. That's how stuff works , nature is brutal.
