It is absolute joy to watch you at Christmas. My son was taking wounded vets with no legs on skiing expedition 2 years ago, when they were all killed in an avalanche. I found your channel at that time. I couldn’t speak for months because the grief was so great, and I didn’t want to see anyone. I could onlyI lie in bed watching tv. I found your channel and I actually laughed out loud. This continued for a few weeks, until I realized I was laughing again. I finally came out of my room and started back into life after that. You will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart, for doing what no one else could do for me. You helped me know there is always laughter, no matter how much pain. While serving as Army Delta force, Matthew had lost both legs in the war and had a traumatic brain injury. I moved in with him and we worked tirelessly to help him recover, and he went on to finish his Executive MBA degree at an Ivy League school. He founded an organization saving endangered wildlife in Africa, as well as a company helping wounded vets learn to achieve their physical goals. You and your families laughter helped me see and focus back on all the good, and not just the pain. Thank you all.
Rebecca, my heart goes out to you. So much pain, but I'm happy this brings you joy. My story is similar, my sister passed unexpectedly and I started watching this, it's been a real treat. Their joy is contagious, and they do work hard, and they are all so Authentic! Best wishes to you!
❤oh I find you amazing and what a beautiful mind both you and your son has and I think its so very soulfull what he did!!! And you doing so much and im sure you helped give him great experiences. Waw what a story of love ❤ all the very best to you on your lifes way and hugs and a Marry Christmas to you😊
My nephew worked with a medical non-profit in Africa for years. What organization did your son create the foundation of as my family are looking for more charities to give to this year. ❤
@@barblallier9413 God puts people in our path and in our lives for a reason. Sometimes these people are in are lives for days, hours, or a lifetime. We cannot be sad when they aren’t here, but focus on what they brought to our life, and what WE learned from them. I’m sad I don’t see him, but what he achieved was so amazing, he made a huge difference to other wounded vets. My overwhelming pride in how he made choices in his life makes me smile, and over rides my grief. We laughed together so much. I could be Stephanie’s long lost sister, I love Christmas,my motto is. Less is NOT MORE…LESS IS JUST LESS. Christmas was his favorite time, and loved to decorate his house. I have a tree in every room, garland with lights up the stairway. Christmas kitchen garland with food ornaments. He loved coming home on leave at Christmas for Moms food and and a house filled with smells of Christmas and filled with love. It’s why I love watching Stephanie, Phillip and crew. It reminds me of our home when the kids are here
Special Mother, special son. Sounds as if the world was fortunate to have him with us as he shared his gifts. Love and respect to you for raising such a man. Glad LaLonde and its charming chatelaine worked their magic.
Oh WOW!! Marie's mother is SO talented at table decorating and cooking! I see where Marie gets it from now! The greenery on the table looked spectacular! So glad Marie was able to celebrate a traditional Norwegian Christmas with her family!
The room chosen for Michael's mother seems to be chamber de Roger? Love that darling bed. What a cozy choice for a winter stay. It was so thoughtful of Michael to have warm items ready for his mother. He's a good man.
The Norwegian Christmas was so beautiful and all the food looked delicious. It was so nice to meet Marie's family. So nice to see Michael's mother too. I love how he bought her so much cold weather clothing. What a sweet, thoughtful son.
Marie’s mother’s table is as beautiful as she is. Marie is very lucky to have such a talented mother! Also, Michael is so sweet thinking about the comfort of his lovely mom.
What a wonderful Norwegian Christmas!! Marie's Mom & Sister are so lovely & they both worked so hard to bring such joy & smiles to everyone's faces!! The meal looked delicious!! Marie, you were so sweet to share your Mom & Sister with us & bring a special tradition to the chateau!! Thank you to Stephanie too!! 🇺🇸
Your Uncle Steven was looking especially elegant for the occasion. And your charming Aunt Chantal was lovely as always. She just seems to embody a certain radiance.
The wallpaper in Michael’s mother’s room is so elegant. Love it. The table done in green and white was absolutely stunning! My favorite of all the dining tables you’ve done.
Marie's mother is an absolute vision, and her talent for creating beauty is truly remarkable. The table decorations, flowers, everything - stunning! Your warmth and loveliness shine through. Stephanie, I noticed your focus on the chapel, and even though the Christmas advent might be different this year, your dedication is inspiring. It resonates with me as I'm caught up in a major project too. Seeing Marie’s mother and sister bring the Christmas spirit is a beautiful reminder of letting others shine. The chapel and the 'Adopt a Star' idea are brilliant! Sending you all the best. Your bravery and courage inspire me to take risks. Dreaming of visiting the chateau one day. Admire you all and the incredible work you do! ❤
Agreed♥️ I loved the « looking back » introduction and being able to see the November crew celebrating and Michael’s mother arrive for the next wave of Christmas fun, created by everyone on board 🥳, having had a Norwegian mother myself this episode is close to my heart and especially inspiring, perfection🌲🇳🇴🫚👩🍳🐖
It's the singer in her, a good ear for music and training through songs in all kinds of languages equips her perfectly for language abilities. This is just one of the reasons why more people should be trained singers, or at least sing in groups often, it is extremely healthy for posture, balance and breathing, gives you a good core muscle workout, and bonds you to the social group like only making music together can! ❤
Michael is a true gentleman to his mommy. I loved that he bought her warm clothes. We have been living in the USA for 27 years now, and my South African-born son is the same. He never lost that while growing up in the USA. South African men are rough and tough, but always make sure their moms are comfortable. For example, Elon Musk, a millionaire, grew up and was born in South Africa, and you can love him or hate him, he is very respectful towards his Mom. I love that about South African men.
The dining room table decorations were an absolute Christmas wonder, and everyone dressed beautifully. It looks like the dinner took place before Pavlina left for her trip, and before the arrival of the new dining room chairs. Thank you for sharing the Norwegian style of Christmas. It is truly magical.
She looked like a fairytale vision of The Snow Queen ...or from one of my favorite illustrators Kay Nielsen of the lady in white riding on the back of a polar bear trudging through the snow. 🌬❄💙 ❄ @@EmilyBoltz
Wonderful and beautiful Norwegian Christmas! There is something magical in the white flowers, snowballs and green leaves, it almost made me believe on fairies! it was lovely to see you all happy and enjoying the banquet!
Omg isn't it lovely to see Michael wee mother over to day , and what a long journey to hope she enjoys her stay , that bedroom is amazing Stephanie, are fairy tale room xxx
I didn’t know that Michael’s mother’s name is Judy. What a coincidence! She is staying in my favourite LaLande room . I stayed in that room last year and found it totally charming and comfortable. I loved looking out at the sheep below my window. This was a fun vlog. Stephen is so charming - appreciating all the beautiful women around him. I loved how Marie’s mother did the table 🤩❤.
Marie your Mother did the table and room beautifully. So nice to see Michael’s Mother at LaLande. I also loved Marie’s Mother’s Christmas Jumper. Everyone dressed for dinner looked fabulous.
It’s so nice to see Michael and Marie’s beautiful mothers …Nothing can compare with having you mother to spend the holidays with …You’re very lucky indeed..⭐️
Just wonderful! What a beautiful table decoration by your mum Marie, I can see where you get your talent from. So much love, fun and friendship all wrapped up in one episode and Michael is so thoughtful to his dear mother too, making sure she is warm enough.🎄👏🥰🙏🏻
What a stunningly beautiful and elegant tablescape Marie's mum made, though I definitely would NOT suspend or even have poisonous mistletoe anywhere near a table, pretty though it was.
What a wonderful gathering and beautiful Norwegian Jul Solstice celebration. My dear Grandfather's birthday was on 12.21, the Winter Solstice. The LaLande Dining Table looked Exquisite and gorgeous. White flowers with greens are my very favorite, and the scent of pine must have been heavenly. Mistletoe on chandelier was so pretty. Such amazing foods, delicious selections. I could really feel my Norwegian ancestry coming through the genes. Welcome to Michael's mother! Such a long journey, but she will enjoy being at LaLande. And Sir Lancelot❤ Le Bambino has been done in by the joy and excitement. And maybe just a little too much sausage! 🙏🏻🌷⚜️🇸🇯⚜️🌷🙏🏻
