Really great content again Hannah. Probably the two videos you just made at SGGT were the most informative and eye opening that I have ever seen on RUclips. I also now understand some of the problems I have had since I changed to graphite last summer. I think it is what Laurence explained about progressive weighting/frequency that may be the key. I swing 7i at about 77 mph and I am not getting younger, but the short irons are very "wafty". Your channel is way too good to have only 44k viewers. Come on everyone subscribe !
Now this is the fitting I would love to have done. So many I've seen and been to don't have 10% of the shaft and head offerings seen here. The last one I did was right after I retired from the military and they had maybe 4 or 5 different steel and graphite shaft options and wasn't nearly as comprehensive. I wouldn't mind paying for this type of fitting.
Axioms are expensive, Interchangeable driver type heads and shafts. I've a demo Callaway ST Pro with a SteelFiber shaft, during a fitting we changed that shaft to other iron heads as for most of their demo matrix had the same fitting, similar to driver fitting, not the spanner type seen here. If iron heads where sold separately with the driver type fitting and you could keep your shafts, I think it would work great, or keep your heads and change the shafts. But I don't think the OEM's would be onboard unless they charged the same amount, on the grounds that the fitting cog cost more and the customer has more longevity. I'd be in.
Switched to Graphiyes a couple of years ago due to elbow pain. Went from KBS Tour 120 stiff to Recoil 95 stiff...playing better with the graphites..doubt ill ever go back to steel.
Wow! Laurence knows his stuff! Very interesting video, thanks. It’s difficult to compare my fitting experience with yours, because I was trying 7 iron setups. I thought 10 yards difference between your carry and total distance was on the long side, but then again, it was a 6 iron. I think you said about SteelFiber i95 that it was ballooning, and that was my experience too. Next month I’ll have a fitting with a Mizuno tour truck. I hope it has a wide selection of shafts - I’m interested in the SteelFiber i110, but also the Accra you settled for, and maybe the Axiom.
Brilliant vlog! Always a joy to watch you swing a club. It’s amazing how a shaft can influence the flight and distance of a golf ball. Go kill em this year Hannah!! ❤️
43 year old guy with a decent swing speed here. I switched over to a full graphite bag a few months ago, and I don't think I'd ever go back to steel at this point. The feel is just so much better for me, but I'm sure it's a subjective thing.
@@nationalclubgolfer Oh yeah, absolutely. Everybody looks for something different in their shaft choices, but it does seem like graphite is a far more viable option for a wider swath of players now as compared to the early 90s when graphite shafts seemed to be more whippy and inconsistent. As someone who is becoming an equipment geek (and as I know you can relate to), it's just cool to have so many more combinations on the market today to play around with during that journey to the perfect set.
I switched to graphite last year based on the same principles as auto racing. Swap stock parts for carbon fiber parts. Light weight, looks, aerodynamics, strength etc. 🤷🏾♂️ When up grade the clubs. I will stick to graphite.
As I’ve got older I am very open to trying graphite , in irons . Not long ago I went from dynamic golf stiff shafts to KBS tour 90 regular and they have helped my game . Would be really interested in getting fitted for graphite irons especially if you could get a blend like you were getting . Great video , watching from Australia 🇦🇺
great video Hannah... I just went through a fitting myself and it's amazing what some subtle changes can do for your game... the right shaft can really change how you strike the ball...
Great video Hannah. I was recently fitted for new irons and came away in axiom 75s. The improvement was unbelievable especially in the dispersion. Steel is dead long tive graphite 😂
Graphite for hybrids and driver. Irons steel but that works great for me. I know some people that love graphite and it works best for them. It’s really just a preference and you must test and see what works best for you.
This video was great Hannah! Thank you, I have learned so much. It is especially pertinent since I have almost the same exact swingspeed numbers as you in all my clubs
Dave from Liverpool I had them Titleist t150 didn't like them thought they was a bit clicky so when back to my Titleist ap2 18s much better solid keep up the good work
I switched to steel fibers years ago and now game Axioms. Driver speed hovers btw 110 to 115, graphite tech feels so much better and easier to swing to me.
Hanna, Thought you were going to the Ping heads from your last video. This shaft fitting was very informative though, particularly mixing into the longer irons. I'm currently in SteelFiber 110s. I feel a fitting coming on.
Really interesting watched previous RUclips from Sggt golf looks really quality persuaded me to book in next Friday for driver fairway hybrid fitting thanks HH
Love the looks of those Accra and they feel nice ! I noticed he was trying stiff shafts in the other ones you tried. Did he build your Accra shafts at stiff also ?
great video, getting fit Fri so will try those top 2 for sure, did you hit Steel Fiber or recoil? Hoping Mizzy Pro 245s w recoil work for me as no upcharge. ;0)
@@nationalclubgolfer lol. It was a few years ago. Probably 10 years now come to think of it 😁. My old Ping G5's. I've upgraded to the G10's. Keep up the great work Hannah 👍🏻
@@nationalclubgolfer You should do a distance comparison between my old Ping G10 irons and the new Ping G730 irons. It would be interesting to see the yardage difference. Maybe it's time to get a custom fitting?
I've recently started playing golf again. I wouldn't be able to play without lightweight graphite shafts. I have a spinal disability and steel shafts, even lightweight ones, are just too heavy and fatiguing. I can just about walk 9 holes with graphite clubs and a push cart, and can do 18 on the motorcart, but no way could I do either with steel, they're just too tiring to swing. If graphite shafts didn't exist I couldn't play
Hannah my drive goes through the fairway into rough and ends up next to a stone laid wall behind another green and is not an out of bounds barrier wall and is impacting my intended swing… what are my options?
There's a sizable minority of lightweight steel players on the LPGA, mostly in the flavor of Nippon NS Pro. But I definitely agree that most golfers should play graphite. It's more efficient and easier on the joints. Be very careful with swing weight. I'm fully convinced a D2 120g steel player is a D4 or D5 or higher 95g graphite player.
@@seanpeacock5595 That's exactly what is keeping graphite from taking over as it did in drivers, woods and hybrids. High launch irons are popular now. I wish there was an entire line of heavy golf clubs that can adjust from D5 to E5, with tech like Edel. And most golfers play an oversized putter grip now instead of a skinny grip. We need to move on from skinny iron grips.
Hanna regarding your subscriber plug, I'm a subscriber but I'm not normally signed in as I watch on the telly in the kitchen. You should add, "and if you are already a subscriber, thank you. Please can I ask you sign into your account to watch as it helps a hep...."

The length vs lie angle information was eye-opening. 1st time I've ever heard about that! Another great video Hannah!
Yes that is a really interesting one! Longer clubs play more upright naturally and shorter ones more flat

I've tried graphite shafts but they were too whippy for my swing speed. I was leaving the club face open at impact. Went back to steel shafts.
When was this? Graphites are very strong now and definitely not whippy like they were a few years ago
