So here's how I do it. It's a little more tedious but it gives you full control of slowing down and speeding up a clip. This lets you drag out your clips as long or as short as you want and have varying speeds within the clip. 1. I select my clip and Isolate key frames(frames where character animation changes) by isolate i mean i actually go through and trim out each individual frame that the animation changes. (trim out any repeating frames) 2. Now that you have these 1 frame clips scattered down the timeline individually move and place them right next to each other. 3. When they're nice and grouped up, make a loop region but instead of pre render, render them to a new track (forgot the shortcut but just right click the loop region to bring up the menu). 4. With the new clip made you can add twixtor to it (you'll probably see a green screen for a few frames after, this is normal as vegas has a minimum number of frames it likes to have for a clip, disregard this) 5. Count how many frames you have (again ignore the green frames) 6. Open up twixtor and change the "Time Remap" from "Speed" to "Frame Number" 7. Go to the "Frame" slider, make sure it is set to "0" and click the animate button to the right of it. This will make a keyframe for the 1st frame in your clip. 8. Scrub to the end of the keyframe timeline and enter the last frame number where your Zero was next to the "Frame" slider, which creates a keyframe for the last frame of your clip. 9. It's important to note that twixtor counts from "0" so if you have 5 frames enter a 4 (basically -1 from the total number of frames, if you're unsure just go the the last frame on your timeline and if you see green warping then you went a frame or 2 too far) 10. Now with this you can play around, you can stretch your original clip out as far as you want and go back into the animation keyframe in twixtor and drag your last keyframe to the end to make the clip play longer 11. You can go even more in depth by adding more keyframes in between for each frame(or even fraction of a frame) to create speed changes within the clip (for example go really fast and then slow down without changing the length of the original clip) Additional twixtor settings: Frame Interp - Blend or Motion Weighted Blend Warping - Forward Smart Blend - turning this on will help in most cases, just make sure you go into your clips properties and uncheck "maintain aspect ratio" Another great tip I learned to minimize warping and ghosting effects is to add brightness and contrast FX (AFTER TWIXTOR, so one the FX chain it should be to the Right) this helps twixtor bunches in some cases. just don't over do it or it will look out of place. you can still do other color correction FX to your edit, just make sure it comes BEFORE Twixtor (to the left). Hope this helps, I've actually switched to after effects and don't use this method anymore. I've not seen one tutorial done this way so figured I'd share
@@Marwan-oh4tk yea it's called forced frame interpolation I believe. I remember reading a huge in depth manual from lolligerjoj on Twixtor for AE. He was going over different methods and I was like this one is totally doable in vegas
Omgg muchas gracias! Ocupaba saber cómo era desde hace mucho, me vi varios tutoriales pero parecía complicado D: El tuyo me gusta porque es más sencillo y da el resultado que quiero, mil gracias!
I have tried several different clips and I used your settings and I tried to play around with it, but I haven't gotten it to look twixtor like at all. It looks exactly the same. Is there a specific resolution or file type I should be using?
oh my... this was the best twixtor tutorial i've seen like really mate, i was really looking for some anime slowmotion edits to make, thanks for doing this. Also i have an question if you could help me out, is about the zoom effect you did at 2:00 (is S_blurmocurves with some z dist or?, how to do?) Thanks again.
>update: I have better settings now, I will post a link here with the cap when I have time it would be nice thank you for this amazing tutors! ^^ are you planning to do another?
Akiira i just been lazy to upload the pics to mega tbh omg KDJDJ and nop, it's a long history the reason of why im not doing more tutorials, this one was and exception, as I said in the cap
Open blurmocurves on first scene, animate z dist. Do keyframe at last frame and 5 frames before that. Do last key frame 1,1 and do the one you put 5 frames before that into a slow fate. Second scene: 0.6 in beginning (fast fate) after 5 key frames 0.9(fast fate). middle of the clip 1.0 (slow fate) and in the end 0.75 (slow fate).
This is the only tutorial that worked! TYSM I LOVE YOU
After I watched this video I thought I was ready. When I opened svp I forgot everything😐
Damn, it's worked properly... I have tried so much tutorial in YT 'bout Twixtor, this is the most simple and WORKED. Thx dude!
