I'm happy, that you like my suggestion. Allmost all children in east germany must join youth organisations. Fist was the "Pioniere" (pioneers). Than in the age of 14 the FDJ. They made programs in the afternoons after school. When the youth where 17 years old, it gaves para-military-excercises. The FDJ had a military-impression. The song was from a swedish pop group in the 90th. It's a parody of the FDJ. But the pictures are real. In 1990 the pioneers and the FDJ was forbitten by the last GDR-government.
Had same thing in SU, now Russia's government tries to replicate it with youth military organisations and "time of the first", which is a horrible for anything, but seems like a terrible translation of pioneers. ER and other political parties have youth organisations, people mainly try to earn money in them.
Thank God these times are now a thing of the past... Becoming a member of the FDJ was not voluntary, it determined your future and professional career... If you weren't a member, you would be socially and professionally excluded, virtually without a future.

Released in 1998 by a Swedish pop group. The GDR no longer existed at that time. So it's a parody
Broo this band released in 1984. But it's ok, if you don't know that
@@we.humiliate.ourselves cool but the Song came out in 1998

That's not true, the FDJ was never banned, it's active to this day.
