  • “A gem rarer than diamonds.” That’s how BD Athlete Nalle Hukkataival describes The Finnish Line (V16). Sitting untouched for years within a mecca for bouldering, Nalle’s latest testpiece has it all-aesthetics, difficulty and a beautiful setting. Plus, it’s now a contender for Rocklands’ hardest boulder problem. Check out Nalle’s ascent in this new BD exclusive film.

    stunning line...really pretty...and i know i love those kind of open handed rail squeezes. i have noticed that this guy really cares about quality and aesthetics a lot more than just pure difficulty (as he says in interviews), ...it doesn't get more pure than that. very inspirational.

      @everythingviral972 5 лет назад +2

      Yea, he seems to find lines that are not just aesthetic and fun to climb, but also Tall, which Imo always adds to a boulder. I personally climbing love highballs, and think they are tons of fun to watch others climb on.

    Nalle’s contribution to bouldering is forever set.
    Finnish line & Burden of dreams are going to be test pieces for generation of climbers.
    Imagine how few boulderers can actually lay claim to such a thing.
    May you forever find peace and harmony Nalle. Hope you’re doing great dude. ❤

    10/10 on Aesthetics! That boulder looks like every line on it would be super proud. I love tall boulders. A line to the left of this line, on the blank face, looks like it would be super hard.
    Inspiring to put it lightly.

      I reckon if the arête is that blank then the face is featureless

      a really strict old school trad climber might not respect the roped rehearsals, but such people are getting very rare these days. one thing i would say as a kinda strict middle age guy who started in so. cal. in the 80s (back when rap bolters were, umm, "weak" and such lines did get chopped) is that you cannot call this a "first ascent" if you already did it on a toprope...in fact, it looks like he got it pretty wired on rope too, must have done it quite a few times.
