Province, Quirino, Isabela, Ifugao, Cagayan, Bicol Region, CALABARZON, Romblon, Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras, Antique, Negros Oriental&Occidental, Cebu, Bohol, Masbate and Siquijor. That's roughly 15,000 kms of touring and I never had any MAJOR problems during those consecutive days of hardcore riding. The Duke and RC390 are tuned to be lean from the factory para pasok sa A2 license na 33-47hp. For this reason the engine runs hot. Kelangan niyan ng fuel controller na may tune para mawala yung engine heat.
Truly agree with you Jay. I am a KTM owner for six years and i'm still loving it maybe becuse of the reason that i never used it as a commuter bike. Having one bike for my daily commute and another one for trail rides. KTMs has its own character which i can't find in any other major brands. Just my honest opinion. I own a 2016 model of the KTM Duke 390 : ) And mannnn is it violent : ) i LOVE it! Will Never Sell! ...There HAS to be something wrong with Your bike cuz i see you not able to go beyond 130km/h. We CRUISE at 140-150km/h on ours and my top speed is over 170km/h (approx 173 shown on the speedo). My cousin's 390 does 179km/h. They have been rigged to Not cross 180. Even my buddies with the Duke 200's can cruise at 135km/h and go up to 145km/h. All these numbers I mention from my OWN experience with my own bikes and friends' bikes : ) We are not very fond of the BMW GS 310 here in India. It does not even compare with the 390 in my humble opinion. BUT i do see your points and your perspective. For long distance riding and touring maybe the GS 310 had better ergonomics and a more comfortable ride. Like someone else mentioned in the comments already... the KTM's are meant for a certain type of hooligan riding and with massive efficiency : ) I can't get enough of them : ) O, YOUR version of the duke is the second or third, mine's the first version, which means: your throttle is electronic (ride by wire) so the jerkiness in slow speeds that you mentioned are noticed on My bike but your version should be beautiful in slow traffic too. Excellent feedback it gives when we pull on it. It is so cool to see alllllll the many places around philippines that you and Nemo travelled to. Respect to you for getting on the road and riding to all of them! So awesome! I lived in Baguio city for around 7 years. And we used to drive down the mountain through the back road (there were 2 highways then, around 2000 to 2005 :) Cheers! Happy riding : )

I'm glad you love yours so congratulations 👍 I'm not sure if you understand Tagalog (our language) but I never said my Duke won't go beyond 130kph. I said "gapang na" meaning crawling or it's not as fast as reaching 100kph from 0. We can't say one is better than the other in general because it's like comparing apples and oranges, one being a naked street bike and the other an adventure bike. You and your friends obviously ride mostly on paved roads so it's a bit biased implying that Duke is a way better bike in general. It's like saying you can't compare a fork to a spoon (implies that fork is way superior than spoon) when all you eat is pasta. Try eating porridge with it and you get my point. 😁 It boils down to what kind of ride you plan to use your bike on. That's why I clearly stated that based on the style of riding I will do to tour Mindanao (a huge island of our country), the GS is more suitable for me. Yup, it's the ride by wire version, and YET it's still jerky AF. I can't imagine driving the old one ✌️😁 At the end of the day, it's all about which strengths and weaknesses the riders can settle with. 👍 Yup, I do thousands of kilometers of riding on each trip from province to province which takes at least a week. It's not just the usual spirited riding in the canyons or mountains with just your back pack for a few hours and call it a day. I bring massive bags and bring tons of stuff hence the difference in preference. Anyway, congrats again on having a bike that you truly love and can't stop emphasizing it on almost every paragraph 😁 I hope to see you someday here in case you want to do the Baguio trip again. I have a first gen 390, but eventually get tired of it being a road bike. But I'm planning to give it a new lease of life as an off roader. just like its older brother the 690. The duke 390 engine has a lot of capability being limited only by its existing platform.

For a normal ktm yes mainit pero dpat hindi umaangat yung temp nya na prang mgooverheat. hindi normal yun sir pag gnun. have your bike checked kasi if okay lahat sa cooling system dpat hindi gnun also a ktm 390 owner :) 😊

Can you recommend the Duke 390 for beginners? I have zero experience in big bikes though my first and only time to drive a motorized 2-wheel was a Yamaha Mio, self learning in under a few minutes was a breeze. Thanks!
I guess it depends on how much power you can manage. I came from a 155cc scooter but practiced first to drive a manual clutch bike for several kms. I found the bike powerful (again, coming from a 155c and an automatic) but was able to tame it after a few hundreds of kms of riding. My advice is test ride a unit first on a safe place. You'll know the answer after it. 👍

I am a Dominar400 owner. Based sa review ni Sir JT halos same lang sila. Bukod siyempre ofcourse the power, mas malakas Duke. Pero kung sa usapang sulit sa presyo, mas sulit pa rin si Domeng. Nabanggit din ni Sir JT, at as far as I know din, Bajaj din ang nagmanufacture sa duke.
But KTM since last year sa Pilipinas na ginagawa...competitor na tayo ng India..Ayala group (IMI in Sta Rosa) is assembling it since last year..As if read in some article, they are planning to bring the bigger CC to be manufactured here.
Argiel Sasil Of course assembly lang talaga sa atin..even Bajaj ay assembler lang din. The design are still from KTM. Other parts, specially the engine ay mahirap i-produce dito sa atin at a competitive price kaya mas practical na import na..

PMS - oil and filter change is around 3,000 to 3,500. (hindi kailangan sa casa lagi, pero may perks at peace of mind kung sa casa man) Parts - matagal bago magkaron, a bit longer compared sa ibang big bike brands Relfash ng ECU - hindi ko alam 😉
Best review so far, less than 70kms pa lang total experience ko sa motor(nakatest drive rin pala ng nk400 kaya natuwa lalo hehehhe) pero naapreciate ko yung mgaa details na sinabi video pa lang pero feeling ko nakagamit na ako.

I bought a 2nd hand duke 390 and yun yung nakakainis na naexp ko, yung pagiging jerky nya. Pero tiis nalang. Tama ka sir, bomba bomba nalang ahaha. Some say na pag kinabitan mo ng piggyback maeeliminate na yung jerkiness nya. Other than that, lahat ng sinabi mo is real/legit. Sama ko minsan sir! Small vlogger here. Thank you and ridesafe! :)

Ganyan din nangyari sa signal light ng rc 200 ko naputol dahil nasabitan ng cover. Bumili ako ng matibay na signal light na same design.

It just makes shifting smoother, and kung magdo downshift ka, hindi na magsu-sudden excessive engine brake kung sakaling mataas masyadong ang RPM.

I am a Dominar400 owner. Based sa review ni Sir JT halos same lang sila. Bukod siyempre ofcourse the power, mas malakas Duke. Pero kung sa usapang sulit sa presyo, mas sulit pa rin si Domeng.
Nabanggit din ni Sir JT, at as far as I know din, Bajaj din ang nagmanufacture sa duke.

Pa request naman sir idol,, kumusta yung maintenance cost ng Duke 390 sir ,,panu yung availability ng parts pag nasiraan sir,?, kada change oil magkanu cost nya sir,, at kailangan ba sir sa casa Lang lagi,,??,, at magkanu Pa ecu re flash nya sir kung sakali kailangan
PMS - oil and filter change is around 3,000 to 3,500. (hindi kailangan sa casa lagi, pero may perks at peace of mind kung sa casa man)
Parts - matagal bago magkaron, a bit longer compared sa ibang big bike brands
Relfash ng ECU - hindi ko alam 😉
Kaya nga depende tlaga sir sa tao kung saan sya komportable.

Best review so far, less than 70kms pa lang total experience ko sa motor(nakatest drive rin pala ng nk400 kaya natuwa lalo hehehhe) pero naapreciate ko yung mgaa details na sinabi video pa lang pero feeling ko nakagamit na ako.

The srp is 240k? When I search for prices online and in ktm's facebook it's around 280k-300k.
You should check the dates of the posts you saw. You can inquire directly to any KTM dealer. 👍

Both Dominar and Z400 have issues pa din sa paper, hindi pa 400cc sa CR pag labas ng casa. Not sure kung naayos na nila.

I bought a 2nd hand duke 390 and yun yung nakakainis na naexp ko, yung pagiging jerky nya. Pero tiis nalang. Tama ka sir, bomba bomba nalang ahaha. Some say na pag kinabitan mo ng piggyback maeeliminate na yung jerkiness nya. Other than that, lahat ng sinabi mo is real/legit. Sama ko minsan sir! Small vlogger here. Thank you and ridesafe! :)
