They could add an “advanced age” feature, where the Dino starts having moments where it doesn’t want to eat or drink and spends most of its time sleeping. Maybe also instead of ragdolling, they lay down in a empty part of the enclosure and then die.
To be perfectly honest, I wish they went more in depth with the old age. For example when they’re about to die, they just lay down and finally just rest. Also I kind of wish they just in general behave differently, like they don’t eat or drink.
They do, maybe by coincidence sometimes, I had an old galli go to sleep, then its status changed to "dying" then after a couple minutes it died from old age
I had a Dunkleosteus with a lifespan of 77 make it to 99. I noticed in its final hour the stamina would only regenerate halfway, and it seemed to have a more difficult time swimming m, and turning it outlived all of the 5 it was born with.
I just wanted to write about it. They die too suddenly, as if they were shot through the heart. It would be better if they knew about the imminent death and just lay down to rest.
It's interesting to see that some of the animals in the game have proper death animation and there are some which just collapsing in the ragdoll mode. Might be a scrapped feature or they have just not enough time to give every species a proper dying animation...
I randomly noticed today that my oldest Edmontosaurus(78 and way past it's lifespan of 69. It's outlived all it's original herdmates so just waiting for it to drop) has paler colors and seems to ''struggle'' getting up unlike it's younger herdmates. It's a very minor detail that you don't notice unless you happen to catch the oldest herdmember getting up along side a younger one.
I raise mantis and all of mine are elderly,in fact one just dropped yesterday, wasn’t expecting her to be the first one,as she was at least a month younger than all the rest, but I’m noticing my other five are not eating as much, and have slowed down quite significantly. They still look good otherwise.
It's interesting to see how some of them seem to die in the "death pose" in which many dinosaur fossils are found. Although irl it's more likely that the death pose was caused by decomposition, just as seen in birds today. It's still a cool reference nonetheless.
@@toronjaAR2717 If you look closely you'll notice that they all have a short death animation that makes them fall into certain poses right before ragdolling (in some species is more accentuated than others) You can even see how several of them throw back their head and tail
Yea let's hope rexy gets torn apart by 2 big other dinosaurs like spinosaurs and let's hope blue and beta get chomped and die from a pack of pyroraptors or dilophasaurs
It would be nice to have a smooth death animation for old age instead of just flopping around like have them lay down slowly and see them breath slower and slower
It was certainly a decision to have all dinosaur ragdoll on death. It was certainly another decision to not give all dinosaurs, like the sauropods, proper animations before ragdolling. It was yet another peculiar decision to have the sea herps die underwater by ragdolling as if they were pterosaurs dropping from the sky. 🤣 I swear, some of these must have been intentionally left goofy. "We're sorry your dinosaur died, but look at least the last thing it got to do was do The Flop!"
Every time, these dinosaurs are dying of not only old age, but thirst and hunger. So we need your help for your support to rescue these poor dinosaurs.
death, death and death after death... the dinosaurs sometimes had strange positions and the water dinos falling in the water was weird. the music also fit the theme! good job! 😁
To be honest, if I was making this game, I'd have the dinosaurs go to sleep and then they die. That is how most natural caused deaths play out, you know just to make it more natural. Most of this is literally making them drop like flies. Also with the sea creatures, most of them should float, not sink like sharks.
As sad as this is it’s part of life every living thing on this planet no matter how big how mighty or how strong eventually dies but yes makes room for a new life. One story ends so another may begin.
That doesn't make sense since corpses float in water for some time. At least a few weeks until the fats on their bodies dwindle enough to where they sink. A good reference would be whales. Whale floats stay up for a bit before becoming whale falls.
Reminds me of a Ceratosaurfrom my first JWE play through on Meurta. She was 10 years past her life expectancy, she had been through so many fights, challenges and disputes over territory. She was a hell of a fighter. I grew rather close to her tbh. Then one day, she lay down under some trees in the middle of the paddock and just looked around and the other ceratosaurs that lived with her. She then just lay her head down and slumped. I left her there for a few mins to get a drink and when I came back, they were all gathered around her, not eating her or touching her, just looking. They stayed like that for ages until one after the other they just walked away. Probably just a glitch, but it felt like so much more than that 😢
Ngl a lot of these seem kinda corny, they just slump over and instantly ragdoll, often with goofy poses. I feel like if they wanted to do natural deaths that they would have em lay down and just never wake up again instead of this sudden flop to the ground. All my opinion but still
@@thisnameisexpunged no I am tired of park builders, I want a horror game, but if they wanna do something as big as this game they should make the animations smoother

I know these are supposed to be sad, but the sauropods flopping over violently as they ragdoll is kinda funny. Pterosaurs as well. They just plummet from the air without any warning.
Death by old age to me is a miracle in of itself. Not sure how many animals meet this end; I feel most once they get so old are often attacked and eaten before finally succumbing to a natural end. though one can argue predation is natural. To pass from this world peacefully is the last wish of any creature.
Honestly, their kinda disapointing, they should have added an animation of them actually laying down to die instead of just...fall, because some deaths just look funny than sad if they just flip around in a way that makes no sense

Or has weakened attack and defence stats so they die from fights more easily.
Well, that happens when they die of starvation, dehydration or disease, they only lie down when they reach less than 20% health and die "sleeping"
Yeah and he could start telling younger ones about how soft and badly educated they all are and that its all not like back in the days anymore
In the original game the dinosaurs sleep and then ragdoll, so why not have it in the sequel?
