Really good info all the way around. I like to throw a seven incher with a 3/16 jig head to keep it high. But your advice is gonna help people catch more poons for sure....

Upside-down rigging is blasphemy 😅 jk If you say that rod is too light for pass fishing What size would you use in a pass but still be able To cast artificial. Probably won't be targeting tarpon but big Reds & Snook . Thanks for your input
Great video Capt.! Would a Senko or stick style bait work.? They’re plenty heavy to cast weightless. Just wondering if it would work on the Cape Fear up here in NC. Thank you sir!

Yes 1/4 head weight then adding a larger plastic will give you enough weight to cast but float high where the poons like to feed

We see tarpon here in my area all the way upriver as well sometimes in the freshwater springs… and folks catch them trolling plugs

What do you recommend using in off color water for Tarpon?
Stained water lets you employ a wider variety of soft baits and even hard baits. The Mag Swimz and Heroz from Zman are good choices
