I don't. The center is crystal clear and loud enough with the channels are all set to equal. It really is a great amp for very little money (about $1k used).

I enjoyed this review so much, I watched it 3 times. Love your videos. I’m actually looking for an amplifier, class AB or D (not ICE, sensitive ears) , 5 channels or more, 200 watts on at least 3 of the channels, 40 lbs or under and less than $2000. Thoughts?

    • @generationbehindhifi
      @generationbehindhifi 9 месяцев назад

Thank you for kind words! It is much appreciated! It's going to be tough finding a 5 channel class AB amplifier with 200 watts of power that weighs under 40lbs. Class AB amplifiers need big power supplies in order to delivery their rated power which adds a lot of weight to the unit. If you don't mind giving up a little fidelity, then a good quality class D amplifier might fit the bill for you if weight is a concern. I really enjoy my RMB-1575 because it provided exactly what I needed (power) for a reasonable price and it hardly weighs anything. Hope this helps!

@@generationbehindhifi I appreciate the response and advice, I don’t mind a class D, but one with purify or hypex. When I google class d, it’s all integrated stereo amps that come up. The Rotel got me excited until I read its ICE topology ( I have sensitive ears, the highs are too much for me) . I just don’t see many 5 channel class d amps , didn’t even know of the Rotel 1575 till I watched your video. If you’re aware of their class D, please point me in the right direction, I’m clueless in this. Thanks again and love your work!!!

@@Ijy10 I'm not aware of any other 5 channel class D amplifiers besides my Rotel. I think Emotiva did a line of class D amplifiers a while back? As for the ICE technology, I think Rotel did a really good job just like I said in this video and I didn't find the amplifier harsh or fatiguing to listen to at all. You do give up some fidelity but besides that I was very happy with my purchase. Happy hunting!

IDK what cables you're running but I'll go out on the limb and say you've got a nice balance set up. I'm one of those guys who will nip pick so please don't take it personal but some absorption wouldn't go a miss. Try experimenting by placing a blanket on your rear wall. If you're an avid music listener.. either the blanket will stay up or you'll be getting some absorption.😄

You're definitely not wrong about acoustic panels. The problem is this is the living room so my wife would never go for that! I could probably add them in the basement system (B&W 802D2s). Thank you! No problem!

Let's be honest.. aesthetically the better half normally knows best but what I will say, it's only when I got the sofa of the rear within my small livingroom and then placed a dififfusion/absorption panel on that same wall did the missus not just aesthetically but sonically too finally come around! And .
If I don't mind saying so myself it doesn't look too bad either...

Thank you so much for the video, especially for your system, as I am thinking about getting the same one you have as a second system (for me, it would be my primary and only one) :-). Are you still very happy with the Venere S? I would also get the Sonetto I ( II if I could afford it) as center channel and thinking the SVS SB 3000. Is this sub a good match for the SF?
Currently, I have 7.1 with the SF concertinos and two SVS Ported SVS 2000. I am using a Denon receiver to power everything. Based on your video, I am thinking to upgrade (if that is an upgrade) to 2 SVS SB 3000, with the Venere S and Sonetto I or II . Of course, my room is a 13 by 21 so I am not sure if that would be an overkilled system...
As for the amp, I have located a MCintosh 7205 for $2K (I am not sure if that's worth the $$) and would still need a HT preamp ( I can't afford a McIntosh one).
Based on all your tests with this sytem, is the Rotel RNM-1575 a good amp to drive the SF? If you were to start all over, what is the best valued amp and HT pre-amp that you would use?
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR INPUT!!!

I love my RMB-1575 and Sonus Faber speakers! The Rotel offers 500 watts by 5 channels (4 ohms) with all channels driven and can be found used for about $1000 in good condition. That's tremendous value for money! The matching processor can be found for about $600 too (RSP-1572).
My Sonus Faber speakers are fantastic. Did you see my review video on them? With all the price increases that have been taking place recently it would cost me $7000 or more to get similar performance as my Venere S so I plan on keeping them for many years to come.
As for the SB-3000, it's a phenomenal subwoofer for the money! Personally I tend to like sealed subwoofer designs vs ported subwoofers as they sound more natural to me. I listen to a lot of music and movies on this system and I really love how well it integrates with my Sonus Faber speakers. If you're a bass head, then you might want to get two SB-3000s, but one is enough for my needs. It fills my room with plenty of bass you can feel without sounding overbearing. Not many subwoofers can pull that off. Another good option is the REL 1205. I recently got one of these and it has about 85% of the performance of an SB-3000 for a few hundred less, so pick your poison as they say. A lot of what I'm saying is subjective so I would recommend ordering a subwoofer from a company who has a great return policy because only you can decide what sounds good to you.
Anyways, happy hunting and I appreciate the kind words! 🙂

Yes. You will need a pre-amp or processor to use this amplifier. You will need to use the pre-outs from your pre-amp or processor to connect to the amplifier's left and right channels. You can connect the pre-amp or processor to the amplifier by using RCA cables. You might want to talk to your boss since he sounds like an audiophile and can probably help you hook it up. Good luck!
