I’d love a school meal video! My daughter is 2 and she’s in daycare full-time. The lunches we have to pack have to be no heat lunches, which makes it a little more challenging. Love your vids!!❤
Former LA preschool teacher here and these are great! I also always tell caregivers IT’S OKAY TO CRY! Yes the caregivers! And most of them do lol and it’s so sweet🤍 It’s ok for you and your kiddo to have a teacup first few weeks. Most kids starting preschool/daycare are covid babies who have never been in the care of anyone else so sending them to be in someone else’s care IS A BIG DEAL! If you need to sit in the car for 20 minutes and sob, you do that! It’s a big change for EVERYONE and we appreciate you trusting us with your most precious gift :) ♥️
Thank you so much. I really needed to hear this. I was just thinking about sending my 2 year old to daycare to interact with other kids because he still doesn't talk.. It's a big step that I'm thinking about.
Ok I’m crying at your comment! My LO just did his settling sessions over summer and was ok for the most part, but hated the last one (turns out he was getting a bug and feeling unwell but I didn’t know at the time). He’s had terrible separation issues since. He does his first full day tomorrow and I’ve already told them I’ll be there for 90 mins or so until he’s settled. It’s so sad, but I do want him to have the opportunity to develop the social skills he will learn there before he gets to big school ❤
New Zealand mum and preschool teacher here. We definitely do nap times if your Pepe/baby still has naps during the day, once baby gets to about 4 or 5 we normally find that they don’t want naps when at preschool and then by 5 when they start primary school there is no nap times.
Im a mom of 2 that are in daycare and I completely agree with you on the lunchbox choice! Edited to add I throw all parts of the lunchbox in the top rack of the dishwasher and it always comes out good as new :)
Thank you for this!! I have been watching your content for about 3 years since I was pregnant with my first kiddo (now 2.5) and he just started daycare for the first time yesterday! This video came at just the right time and helped me handle my mom guilt. ❤
Your babe is 6M older than mine and you always have the best tips, tricks, products. Your channel literally guides me through the motherhood. Thank you! 🥹🖤
So greatful to live in Vienna. They have THE BEST support for parents. If you get into a public preschool it’s around 70€ per month and kids get 3 meals and fruit and water/tea whenever they want. Private are even better cause food is not delivered but freshly cooked there, just more expensive (still not over 300€/month). All you need is some extra clothes for outside and if they get dirty.
Thank you. Little one starts daycare tomorrow and i am very emotional about it. I have been watching your videos for 2 years and appreciate you making this video
For the birthday gift bags, I have to be careful because we have religious dietary requirements, so I do: - Gift bags from shein/Temu - Vegan gummies (I get a large pack and put 5 pieces in mini cellophane baggies) - A mini colouring book (get a 12 pack from party stores or online) - Mini pack of colours (I buy the cheap 50 pack of crayons from the dollar store and put 2-3 crayons in each bag. Nice and simple, no hazards, careful with the dietary requirements
Simple Modern makes kids water bottles too that are awesome and leak proof! I have a 2nd grader and PreKer and they both love them. Also, I'm going back and rewatching all of your baby must have videos since now I also have a 4 month old 😅 So thank you for those!!
Always love your videos 🩵 you look wonderful by the way! Also, we got our oldest a handmade nap mat off of an Etsy seller. It’s got a very think mat and very customizable and can embroider the name of your little right on it.
As a prek teacher I also have a love-hate with gift bags for bday parties. Some parents think that it’s a free for all & will give students snacks or candy containing allergens like peanuts. They will give them toys, food, sometimes clothing items (socks, headbands). Sometimes they will bring (without telling us!) McDonald’s AND pizza AND cake AND snacks SND juice. Sometimes they bring cake that has almonds as a topping & they think “just talking it off” is okay. Bday parties are sooooo stressful & soooo distracting for the kids. I wish there was a rule that didn’t allow bday parties in school.
Where I live it’s forbidden to take any sugar inside the preschool. They do a singing for the kid that has his or her birthday and do a little crown with the name of the child but no sugar or gifts are allowed in.
It happened to me that we went to a birthday in a kids gym and they have gifts bags that had a ball similar to the size of a tennis ball, but when my daughter took it she bit it and ir was foam inside so she had the piece in her mouth. From the outside the ball look like plastic because it had a thin cover
YES YES to the independent play and social skills! (Former preschool teacher here) Most of us are capable of handling children with a lot of separation anxiety but it is definitely a lot more challenging than if your child doesn’t “know” all their educational skills. That’s what we are here for, to teach your littles! But what makes a huge difference is working with your child to learn how to play next to you and well with other children. Most kids are a bit shy at first and that’s super normal! But it definitely makes a huge difference when they have had time to grow that skill of independence and confidence in themselves.🤍
Q: re the lunchbox, can you put ‘warm’ food in 1 section and ‘cool’ food (prob not cold food next to warm right?) in a different section or would the warm food make the whole lunch end up warm? Or would it even keep the warm food warm? Or if I got this do you think I would still need a separate thermos-? Ty!!!🫶🏼
They have some lunchboxes that have a thermos type of section that has its own lid so that it stays warm. If you put warm & cold food in one of these it would warm everything
Mine starts kindergarden tomorrow. she has been home with me since she was born. I am nottttttt okay! D: also- I got the wrong bentgo box without the ice pack. wish I seen this one before hahahaha. great video.
Hey there! Didn’t you guys have a Yeti for Arrow at one point? Am I remembering that correctly? I’ve been debating getting one for my 2.5 year old and was just wondering if there were any cons that made you stop using it? Love your videos ❤
Gift bags for birthday's at school? I have two kids in school and haven't seen that yet. Maybe it's a regional thing? Gift bags at birthday parties are enough, I don't think it necessary to do them at school!
My daughter has been in daycare since 9 months and now she is 3 yrs, all meals and snacks are provided by the daycare 😊 I thought that’s how it was everywhere 🤔 no need to pack food
Ugh I don’t subscribe to the idea of gifting ALL the kids something for my child’s birthday. I’d rather celebrate my daughter and not all the other kids. Maybe I’m just a bad parent lol
I’m from Eastern Canada and it varies here - some do and some don’t. The ones that do, typically don’t provide what I would call an overly nutritious lunch.
Used to work daycare (US based) and it varies. Some do, others don’t. More established daycares might have a cook and kitchen, but “home” daycares getting licensed or are local likely won’t.
I find it crazy you guys can pack nuts to Pre-School. In Australia all childcares, Pre-School and even schools are nut free. All childcares are egg free too. Not sure about the others. Though to be fair Melbourne Australia has the highest amount of allergies in the world. As nuts and eggs most common allergies makes sense it's banned. Wait they do put the soiled clothes into a bag? This is considered a hygiene and safety issue here. They would 100% put those clothes into some sort of bag.
Why are we giving gifts to every kid in class when it’s your kids birthday. That makes no sense. That makes me think of everyone gets an award. No, why are we building expectations that are unrealistic of the real world. Yes we should have fun and magical moments for our kids. And also making them think they should get gifts every time somebody else has a Birthday, why.
Let me know, are you doing preschool, daycare, or homeschool?! ❤
I’m doing a preschool program where a parent attends too 💓
We will do homeschool when kiddos are old enough. If I dont loose my mind of course😅
I’d love a school meal video! My daughter is 2 and she’s in daycare full-time. The lunches we have to pack have to be no heat lunches, which makes it a little more challenging. Love your vids!!❤
Off topic.. but can you please add the link to your jacket? 😅 Love it!

Yes in NZ they do naps. They actually provide food at our daycare so we are lucky not to have to pack lunch in the morning!😅
Please make a full video of toddler meal/snack ideas!

My 2 year old is starting nursery school tomorrow 😊

Free people, I got it 3 years ago but I think they still have it in other colors!
BRITTANY! I must know where this jacket is from! 😍
I’m planning on doing Homeschool!! But I still have a little until my sons school age so who knows if I’ll change my mind!
Where is your sweater from??

What about the kids yeti?👀
Hi from New Zealand. We definitely do naps at preschool … otherwise my 2 year old would be a nightmare 😂
Can arrow open the lunch boxes on her own?
Hi I love you so much Brittany, and I completely understand why you might not want to show arrow any more xx
We're can I get them?

When you've entered into the family fudge lunch box era
Zippered wet bag for soiled clothes! Throw them in the washer and there’s no waste!!!
Oh that’s a great idea!!
😓really feeling the mom guilt 1st day of TK and was sent home with 3 incident reports...
I pack my child’s change of clothes in wet bags, so the wet clothes can be placed in them and returned home.
New Zealand daycares have naptime!! 100%!
My daughter has been in daycare since 9 months and now she is 3 yrs, all meals and snacks are provided by the daycare 😊 I thought that’s how it was everywhere 🤔 no need to pack food
I never realized her name wasn’t actually Arrow!
I heard the silicone plates make the food taste awful :o
I think this is only if you put them in the dishwasher? We have always hand-washed ours and have never noticed odd flavors.
why do you call it school if its daycare/kindy...school starts from year 1 and its different
Ugh I don’t subscribe to the idea of gifting ALL the kids something for my child’s birthday. I’d rather celebrate my daughter and not all the other kids. Maybe I’m just a bad parent lol
As someone not from the US I'm shocked to learn that nursery/daycare does not provide food or water.
Our US-based daycare does. There's very little consistency across care centers, though.
