- In this video, I give my thoughts on the recent release of the Stone Island x Dior collaboration. These points are just my opinion and don't hold much weight; it's purely from my point of view based on the little research I have done, so please take it with a pinch of salt. Aside from that enjoy.

You are right it’s targeting the Chinese and Arab multimillionaires in the city, it’s not for the usual SI wearer. All apart from the black leather jacket are shocking but even that is that any better than say a coach or a Belstaff leather jacket. Should get some reactions when people see the prices:
In my opinion Carlo Rivetti is all about Fashion and is pushing Stone Island to more of a luxury brand imo, and this collaboration is mad! As an avid stone island collector myself this collaboration is not the one, I totally agree with what you say Hox! The prices are ridiculous looking at prices up to €80.000 and as a collector there is no way to acquire any of these pieces, this seems like it’s a massive market push to the high end people with the mega money, the grey shorts are the only item from this drop that look worth it.
Great site and well done , im a traditional Stone island wearer , but the quality as gone down especially in the polo and t-shirt department , as far as the collaborations ,im afraid its not my bag ,sizing has gone crazy , new Dior stuff is male model anorexic kit , and has you clearly stated , paradise for the counterfeiters , keep up the great work

You know damn well I have to get that leather jacket and send it over to you with more other jackets 🤣
80k broo 😫😫😫😫
Imagine pulling up to the terraces in any of that? Stoner is on its way out I think
Same I really wonder who buys it tbh. Many of people I know stopped in early 2000s. Specially when SI could not even be bothered to put that lovely italic "made in Italy" sign on it no more. Where is the attention to detail?
@@cookiemonster7514 as a side note, I think SPZL are doing the right thing by targeting a certain audience and having limited supply. Some of the jackets are really smart Aswell. But when Gary aspden packs it in it will be the whole Massimo Osti era all over again. Kind of
Stone island lost it soon after Osti left, and not even Osti always got it right but at least the quality and price was there. That italic made in Italy sign was class. Most of what Osti did was class and for men to look like men. Carlo Rivetti in my view is all about fashion rather than work wear orientated engineered clothing for men. What the hell has Dior - a poncy over priced fashion label have to do with what Stone Island means to the original fans. Nothing. SI are trying to become more, more high fashion and even more over priced - the higher price the better - look at Pierre Balmain - stupid. You could have clothes custom made for those prices.
Totally disagree that SI lost in when Osti left. The shift from Osti to Harvey is almost seemless, Paul's best can stand with Massimo's work imo.
@@omerta2002 SI slowly lost it then. Look at what Harvey has done to CP. Late 90s and early 2000s was the end. Slowly coming from Osti getting pushed out by Rivetti. Harvey just managed to keep doing what Osti did so well. The jeans still had the small badge with green edge. Not like he changed everything massively. I also prefer the green edge badge. My guess is Rivetti was a sneaky so and so. Nothing really gets me these days - funny cuts and colours. Not the mans brand it once was.
@@cookiemonster7514 I'd agree with you on the slowly lost it part.....in pricing! It's just went out of control of late & as you suggest they seem hell bent on being accepted as high, high end 'fashion' brand. As for CP? They can still do nice pieces now & then but for sometimes the materials aren't up to scratch but they have definitely cheaped out on the zips. Back to SI on the cuts, they have always followed the times on that, with a few oddities thrown in they have always done cracking colours(the more the merrier imo) & CP is doing some lovely shades.
@@omerta2002 I was an addict in the late 90s. It was class. It's not that no more for me. It was all perfect form and function back then. Now CP has a dumb badge on it that serves no purpose.
I agree with you 90's into the early 10's there are some brilliant, brilliant bits of kit. As for the sleeve lens, as subtle as the excellent lower sleeve printed branding? No. Is it a good piece of branding from a distance? Yes. And I might add they either knowingly or unwittingly took that idea, in the print form first, from a C.P. homage tee done by a group of enthusiasts back in '07.
Just seen the price for the Harrington style jacket material, Ffs Hox £4300 yes you read it right😱😱😱
Stone island R.I.P, been sliding down the shitter for years.
Looks counterfeit ,over priced, nonsense! And not our demographic....I concur! My sentiments exactly!
Great video Hox the only decent thing is the leather jacket 👍
Do a video on your poor experience on LV?! Interested.
Imagine Arsenal FC x Stone island
it's only sold exclusively at Dior store, at Dior's price hence the demographic are not exactly Stoney. For many who cried, many others will like.
Temu got the leather jacket for £8.99
I think when Dior did the collab with NIke(not exactly), was when it became more popular. Nike released a collab sneaker with Jordan Brand(Michael Jordan's exclusive brand under Nike) and Dior on the Jordan 1 High sneaker. Jordan 1s were at the height of popularity at the time in 2020, when the sneaker was released. Plus, the added publicity of one of David Beckham's son was wearing them too, made it more popular and Dior gaining recognition. Not only that, but in recent years their mens fragrances have been very popular, especially Dior Sauvage and with Johnny Depp marketing it too. My point is, Dior has been establishing itself to gain brand recognition in the young mens market, and becoming a sought after brand. So, Dior collabing with Stone Island would make sense to each brand.
Personally, I like some of the peices but I dislike the jacket with the flowers on it, which goes against Stone Island's more technical style. I don't mind the placement of the Dior logo but I think it could have been better placed. Or they could have Dior in the centre of the Stone Island star in an incorporate logo instead but without the Stone Island text around it. There are better ways to represent both brands.
What was the bad experience, and what store???
cool collab but its probably gonna be bonkers money because its dior which the stone island prices are already ridiculous as it is in recent years
Dior is opulence territory, prices could be astronomical
Stone island RIP
You think they are done ?
@thehoxtontrend hardly.. its bigger than ever
I like clothes to change styles, but why fix things that was not broke in first place
@@thehoxtontrend SI been dead since late 1990s and early 2000s. They are a "for the sake of it" high fashion brand now and will want push their prices towards Diors. It's just a badge now. Every year I can never find something which is prefect - the price would be ok if the stuff was bang on Osti at his finest.
I heard not coming to England
That would be odd if not?
Couldn’t agree with you more. Majority of this is hideous in my opinion😂
It will sell out on release for sure, so there are fans of it no doubt.
@@thehoxtontrend Bro who buys this crap now? I got knits from 1997 and they still look in good condition - stuff I bought a few years back is already bobbling and fraying at the neck. I only really buy a knit these days if I can find one that does not look too unmanly.
That's done island collection works as a runway collection. That's okay, But it doesn't work Add a function in collection that everyday people are gonna wear due to collects , don't island
SOME LOOK NICE!
Which ones tickle your fancy? there will defo be some pieces that fans love for sure.
When’s part 2 of the oldskool jungle garms bro
?
🤔
The knit is nice, That badge placement on all pieces is ugly though and feels like it could get snagged on stuff easier on lower arm. Why they didn't go to the effort of at least making a unique DIOR patch/Badge is beyond me, would of been a lovely cheap touch without having the boring font above it. Creativity lol. Big ups brother, stay strong.
the colour is whack. SI just do very strange colours these days. Rather than the manly tones of yester year.
I often look at the womens Dior in store and think it looks amazing. The mens is completely meh. I feel the same way about Prada.
C p company All day RIP stone island.
Cp actually acknowledges the casual aspect, but stone island choose not to, even though it’s on of the main reasons why they are what they are,
If they got rid of the stupid black plastic disc first and get back to the bottom hem logo.
@@user-kh3nz9lb2k exactly. over branded carbon copy of stone island with badge now. same cargo pants, jumpers, joggers, hoodie, every season.
The SI x Dior stuff does look tacky 💯
30grand for 1 of em I've seen ridiculous
This collab is for millionaire hype beasts, it won’t ever make it to the streets, never mind the terraces, I just wish the quality was the same as OG Stone Island these days, the quality has dropped off a cliff same with CP, which absolutely breaks me, they’re my favourite brands by far too.
Not interested already pay enough for stone island itself
Decent sale kicking off at LVR at the moment, but agreed lots of collectors saying they are priced out, not that they not have the money, it's just beyond what older heads would pay Stone Island - tinyurl.com/4k4rh2a6
My Dior rep sent this bs to me and tried to see if I wanted any. I fired her. She should have known better.
A little harsh ? 😅😅
i like it, just have to up your bread game if you want the gear… stone island have to get away from that chav, hooligan vibe… tommy wearing it does it no favours!
No, there comes a point were pricing becomes ridiculous, no matter the brand.
This collab is Dior built with SI design language so it's Dior priced.
they r turning SI into luxury and ruining it
looking for a new audience perhaps ?
@@thehoxtontrend yeah, more profitable
man Dior have really sold out over the years, used to be a classy brand, now all over the hype
B30s r hard ngl
that's a hard 'no'...the only supporters are bots 😂
I don’t rate this collaboration
Instead of building on the Stone Island brand and bringing interesting and new pieces they decide to take the Moncler collab route, I'm not a fan
Very anti S. I. To be honest. Only saving grace is it will probably be a one off or a once every how. Many years.
This stuff is for poor people with no taste. Rich people will never waste money on such nonsense
Crap
What’s with that bag is it for men 😂😂😂 🚫👨❤️👨
Not a fan designer collaborating in my opinion, if it was supreme and stone island like there collaboration @TheHoxtonTrend
