    Dude, I would rate this content 5 stars on Udemy. Been looking everywhere for such videos and you nail it man. Thanks

      Thank you! maybe in the future there will be something on Udemy.
      Currently i think its fun to make these videos and when i started i though it was really hard to actually find something on youtube. I have the possibility to work together with some great ppl to learn from. So it was time to give back some to the community, and this was the best way i could think of :)

      @@MagnusHolmberg-NetSec Any recommended material that I should go through for CCSA, have it scheduled for 23rd Dec?

      @@sayedjalalsadat8519 am guessing you already checked my CCSA serie here on RUclips that’s a few hours of video :)
      (I haven’t covers all topics yet such as VPN/Smartevent and backups.)
      CCSA is in general concepts and GUI.
      There is an study guide on check point website
      www.checkpoint.com/downloads/professional-services/training/r80-system-administrator-study-guide.pdf
      This covers all the topics that you need to be familiar with. The things that you don’t understand or have questions about. I guess the best (not the easiest) is to read the SK/ATGR about that topic.
      Its like 7-8years ago i did write CCSA myself so I would love to hear how it did go for you and what you think could be a good video topic :)

    Hello Magnus-- let say if we enable blades for any functions ..in existing firewall..so do we need to purchase or upgrade license for that particular function .. or will it work with same licences

    • @MagnusHolmberg-NetSec
      @MagnusHolmberg-NetSec  3 года назад

      Depends on your license today.
      So this is something that you will need to check.
      If it’s only for test purposes, there are blades that will allow you to activate them for 15days before they do require a license.
      First year when buying a software licens or appliance they normally come with NGFW, and you need to extend the blades with subscriptions if you want to use all the features.

    off-topic, do u know the differences between open-server and VSX it's a bit confusing?

    • @MagnusHolmberg-NetSec
      @MagnusHolmberg-NetSec  4 года назад +3

      Open servers is just an option if you dont want to run check point appliances, meaning you want to use an HP, IBM server instead.
      Check point can be isntalled on some soft of VM (onprem/cloud) or check point appliances or an open server. its the same software and they can have the same functions*
      VSX is a “function” that you can run on appliances or open servers.
      VSX allows you to create virtualized firewalls on the same physical hardware (open server/appliance)
      You are not able to run VSX on an VM (its not supported)
      I have an video called

    in which scenario we need to use migrate export , clean install

    • @MagnusHolmberg-NetSec
      @MagnusHolmberg-NetSec  3 года назад

      If I understand it correct, now in the later versions cpuse more or less use the same process as an migrate export / import.
      So I would only use it if you changing hardware / virtual servers for the mgmt servers.
      Before it was used a lot more, especially if you wanted to jump several versions forward and just do the “upgrade” in VMware first so you can prep everything in advance.
      There is one reason to do it today aswell, and that’s to get the new file system that came in kernel 3.10 (version r80.40*) if am not mistaken

      Not something I have used myself yet, iknow there has been limitations on upgrades Atleast before, so I think new deployment is needed in some cases
