American made is definetly a step forward. I hope they can sell a lot, so they can pay off their new factory quickly. Because that way they can have a more affordable version 2 and sell it to even more people, especially those on a budget.

I like this guy's presentation. He gets right to the important points. I was thinking he should mention that you can turn the big circle off because some people might not want it, and within about ten seconds he was describing that very feature and some reasons why it's important. Primary Arms is one of the best optics companies out there, and a push to manufacture in the United States just proves it. I hope this is the start of a trend across the industry.
I've heard the Vulcan reticle referred to as a crutch, but if a bad guy puts me in an awkward situation I haven't anticipated in my training, pride will not be a priority.
A crutch isn't inherently a bad thing. It's there to help you when you're hobbled by circumstance, and for when you need to train up to your full potential. It's only bad if you rely on it for more than is necessary, and that's entirely on the user. This particular crutch can be turned off, so anyone arguing against its existence is making their own monster for their own reasons, and that's their own problem.
Japan, Korea, Germany, and Taiwan are the worlds largest LED producers. America basically has zero capability in this regard save for a few small shops specializing in custom orders.

Exactly. With Cylee Bear at $200 you can get 3 of them that actually have 2 side screws into a rmr 2 slot pic rail adapter plate almost same concept as these guys think their doing.

Last thing I ever thought I'd learn from any firearm channel is that LEDs grow from crystals and that they're only grown in Germany and China. What the fuck I'm going to go down a rabbit hole at 2am now.
If this pans out as accurate and durable, I’ll get ten. I need optics that sit low for my rifles. A low closed optic like that would be great for a pistol. I love Holosun, but I can be convinced to be a switch. I mean I can be convinced to switch.
Seems like a well thought out optic, won’t be in the market for awhile but will watch and see how they do, willing to pony up for an American made optic if it’s as good as the competition.
I've got the Primary Arms 507C ACSS Green Dot and I'm in love with that circle! Not sure if I'll upgrade, but this is a pretty sight. Highly recommend it!

Properly constructed and torqued connections don't have any sheer load going through the bolt regardless of geometric interlocking shapes it is called static friction and is sufficient to keep a racecars wheels on.
This looks great, but on the footprint the plate is always held down with a couple of screws just like other dots to be fair. I do hope the plate allows tighter tolerances, because a plate without movement before being secured with screws will truly be solid.
prefect reticle choice and really good ideas behind this. as long as it doesn't cost more than my gun this might be a nice grail optic, especially if the light transmission is good under NV
I hear this all the time. Having astigmatism, the easiest way I’ve found to mitigate it is use a red dot they way it’s intended. Keeps your eyes target focused and superimpose the dot. It’s not designed to be used as a rifle scope reticle.
@joshmatthews3450 Yeah, it wouldn’t be able to sit down into the slide like it currently can since the optic itself wouldn’t fit into the footprint of the cut. But, maybe they’ll make a smaller version of the optic itself down the road that’s able to do that.
Honestly thought about 3 moa was the sweet spot but I guess not if you go by the statistic that the vast majority of self defense scenarios happen within 7 yds then I guess it makes sense
4MOA is 1 inch at 25 yards. I'd be okay with a 6 or 8MOA dor. I would have to search pretty hard to find someone that can deliver 2 inch groups, on demand, at 25 yards.
It's still a mounting plate so I kind of roll my eyes at the whole 'chassis system' thing, but the fact is this arrangement allows one to "direct mount" the sight assembly to many platforms without adding height; that's what's been missing previously. This system stands to be the closest thing to "one ring to rule them all" in bolt-on pistol optics, if they can adapt it to the next few most popular platforms besides MOS and RMR. The Glock/Aimpoint COE is elegant and all, but in the end it is just one more proprietary optic & mounting footprint added to the mix, and that means it won't serve all the guns already out there.
This could be revolutionary for the pistol dot mounting systems. At that price point i can't wait to see how it does against the rmr, rmr hd, sro, etc. I mean are we paying for the mounting system or is the dot that good as well? We shall see. Thanks for the video!
Id buy one cost aside. My only issue is i really want it for a top dot. I think the chevron has great utility for rifle shooting. Everything ive seen suggests it is a dot with vulcan. I hope thats not the case.
While the price is pretty steep, it’s not out of the range of similar optics. PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE, make a green reticle version of this. I’ll likely replace some of my HE509-RD with this on a few rifles. Just need green dots for pistols and the rest of my rifles. 😁
Saw a bit of distortion when they moved it. Really wish EVERY manufacturer would just use aspheric lenses like SIGs. My 4T has literally zero distortion. I’ll have to get my hands on one of these to see how much distortion there is. It’s very hard to go back to distorted optics after running SIGs. Very happy to hear about this American made sight and will keep an eye on how reliable they are.
I wonder how it is under nods. Sitting lower makes it seem like both a good secondary aiming solution and passive solution it it doesnt blem your tubes.
They seem apologetic about the ring, offering it without, allowing it to be turned off easily... I think it is amazing, it should be an industry standard not a hidden feature!
I was pretty stoked about what i was hearing until the battery life and msrp portion. I like the feature set, but those two killed it for me. I do want to see Aaron test it though. If it survives and they improve battery life, i would consider it despite the price
Bulky compared to what? The window is level with the slide, it's no wider than the slide except for the battery, and there's no battery sitting on top. It looks at least 1/3 less volume than the Trijicon RCR, to my eyes.

They lost their market to china a while ago and absolutely can’t compete with international LED emitters. Their whole strategy now is to sell to customers that need to buy American for government grant purposes.
If this thing is everything they say it is, I hope it really takes off and replaces the (quite frankly, confusing) stranglehold the ACRO P2 has on the market.

Really hoping they expand the chassis footprints to other footprints like the Holosun K and DPP cut.
They’ll probably do the DPP cut since Sig has it on the 320’s but this thing would probably look ridiculous on a K cut, that’s for the smaller dots.

Have an ACRO2 on a G17 with the ACRO cut, pretty solid. There is AimPoint and then everything else.

The EPS series form Holosun uses aspheric lenses.

The led for that is TINY, I know Cree makes a ton of high output leds, but I don't think they make any that size. I might be wrong though, idk.
