I was in Bequia this past spring for a wedding. Absolute paradise. If you have the opportunity to go, I strongly reccomend it. I loved the fact that there are no hotels and cruise ships don't dock at the island. Stop by Jacks Bar on Princess Magaret Beach and ask "yellow" the best bartender there for a BBC.

We were there in 2008. Absolutely wonderful place! We want to go back. Took a day cruise on the Friendship Rose to the Tobago Keys. Got hit by a God-awful squall. Didn't know if we would make it back..:) Truly magical...the way the Caribbean used to be.
It is my dream to go to Bequia and teach through the Peace Corps. Anyone have any information about teaching on the island? I already started my application process. Is is a good idea for a single mature woman to go there alone for two years? Where would the Peace Corp put me up in housing? I am a sailor and SCUBA diver.
