  • In this video, we compare the P70 flashlight (brightest flashlight in the world) to the Surefire g2x and Duracell flashlight.
Update! 3 years later the P70 is dead and in the trash. The surefire is still kicking and used everyday!

On a campsite that has a party at night, everyone using flashlights someone shouted I have the most powerful torch.. I went to my van and produced my XHP70 ..I won out of about 20 flashlights. The XHP70 will get a little hot after about 10 mins use on full power and it will drain the batteries, but it has a second Brightness mode and that works fine, I think it's "a good torch for the money". About £20 from ebay in the UK. Point it to the sky on full power and you have a Star Wars lightsaber ..May the force be with you.

Yeah, I think he has fallen for some confirmation bias there, I have a similar flashlight and it is really good IMO. It sure does pretty good bang-for-buck when you look at the price difference. Of course, the numbers are a joke (I've seen 1.000.000 lumens mentioned for a tiny flashlight with 3 AAA batteries...), but the sellers are nice enough to exaggerate wildly so no one can take the data seriously. I don't think any of the videos on eBay/Amazon/AliExpress etc, show 1, 2, or more of the product, they just VFX it or have a completely different searchlight. Same with Vehicle LED bars.

Hi, you can get the 123 batteries in Li-ion rechargeable batteries to replace the non-rechargeable 123 batteries. There are two advantages, they can be recharged and they charge to a max of 4.2v as opposed to the 3v in the regular 123 batteries. I use them in all my flashlights that use 123 batteries and the LEDs handle them just fine except they are MUCH brighter. I first tried them in my brinkman (plastic) surefire-ish flashlight with a 1200lm rated, one mode LED module from ebay. Then in used them in my surefire. The brinkman was considerably brighter, so I put the same LED module in my surefire and it works fantastic.

    • @bennylloyd-willner9667

Much brighter = way less lifespan, most lights are overdriven from the factory to get good numbers so to overdrive them even more, is not sound use IMO. The increased power also generates more heat so the decay is more or less squared I believe. But, on the other hand, if you want a super bright light and don't need it to last very long, it is a way to go.

The one thing so many people over look with lights is washout. I have a very bright (1800 lumen) Olight but it's doesn't have a focus able beam. If the are no obstructions around its ok, it doesn't have as far off a throw but it's acceptable. When I'm in the woods, it's useless. It throws such a wide beam that it lights all the trees closest to me the brightest and I can't see anything beyond those first trees. I bought a small aa flashlight with focus able beam and i can direct the light between the trees close to me and it's way more useful. Repeat the test you did in the parking lot only go some where there are trees or bushes around or better yet, go where you have unlimited range. If you tried throwing light hundreds of yards you'd notice that cheap flashlight kicking the surefire's but

I was doing rounds @ the Grand Canyon village when some of my LEO buddies saw my light & thought it was surefire & began telling me he got his on sale for $200, & he asked to see mine. He light it and he notice it felt different & ask what brand. I told him Thorfire ( thurnight's budget version) & he asked how much I paid for it....$18😁 he was pissed cause well they were hard to tell apart. That was almost 7yrs ago & I've only had to replace the o-ring & the lens ( It was dark & I thought it was the switch) I was pressed so hard hard I broke the lens off. Wish they still made those lights, can't find them now....but there are better flashlights for less then half the cost. RUclips is full of them reviews.

Theirs the temperature and then theirs the "real feel" temp. So at the end of the day, its about what "looks" brighter that the consumer cares more about anyhow. Xhp70 does good for the price but there are things you should consider before buying one.
    1. Not flexible UI.
    2. No mode memory.
    3. Very low runtime even with two cells. Lol
    4. Bulky.
    5. Zoomies have limited vision arc when on spot mode.
    6. Waterproofing issues.
    7. Lack of safety features like LVP or thermal step down.
    8. Zoomies are not efficient in focusing light.
    9. Hit or miss when it comes to reliability.
    10. Lack of overnight low modes.
With that said, xhp70 is not that bad, it can still serve as an indoor light if you need light in short periods of time. There are far better options out there from the budget brands if you don't want to spend much. For me, I pick flashlights that suits my needs and something I can really rely on when there's an emergency. I'm not a lumen freak, I only use enough lumens for me to see comfortably. 100 to 300 lumens is actually bright for most cases. 25 to 50 lumens enough to see your path. 5 to 20 lumens is good for overnight light when there are blackouts. In the end, it's not about which is the brightest or cheapest but about which one gets you home or gets you through the night. Lol

    • @bennylloyd-willner9667
      @bennylloyd-willner9667 2 года назад

Regarding the 3. it is hard to put out a lot of light for a long time without really good batteries. I know the LED and circuitry may not be as efficient as a 3-4 times more expensive one, but it isn't that much different if using the same brightness IMO. The Imalent MS18 is pretty bright but you can't have it on the brightest setting for long (one minute I think before it needs to cool down), but it is still pretty pricey.

    • @budgetlightph7814
      @budgetlightph7814 2 года назад

@@bennylloyd-willner9667 yes. It usually comes with crap batteries. Aside from battery capacity, the low mode is not low enough. A simple switching to low mode when moving around and only using turbo while scanning will significantly increase your runtime. My single cell light can survive an entire night without having to replace the battery even when I use them as an overnight light.
A little bit of upgrade on the quality doesn't always mean too expensive. You should check budget brands like convoy, sofirn or lumintop. 🙂🙂🙂

This is not the truth man. These lights are no joke. All you have to do it buy the light for $35. And buy separate batteries for $10.
That’s roughly $50 for a good and very high quality flashlight.
Most American lights with this amount of light easily charge $120-150, for the SAME thing.

The P70 does seem to be sold under many different names, but the reviews I've read really seem to indicate a poorly made flashlight that is not all that reliable. It is certainly brighter than the Surefire and Duracell though - although far from being the most powerful in the world... It is not 9000 lumens either. From the looks of it, I'm guessing anywhere between 1000-2000. I have both 1000 and 2000 lument flashlights and the difference between 1000 and 2000 lumens is not as big as you would imagine. I believe the XHP70 LED can produce up to 2000, but never 9000. A little side note about the Costco Duracells, they are great when you fist turn them on, but keep it on and the brightness is automatically reduced in increments (you can visibly see it change). Same with the 3 pack of Duracell headlamps Costco sold this year. Very disapointing to be honest.

29W 181lm/w so well over 4 thousand (4292 lm) ,if your light is that dim buy some decent batteries some that can handle the 30 watts this led requires, maybe research before you blab your professional opinion and buy some batteries, psst youre looking kinda stupid right now shhhh Adam

Allain, I liked the style Costco had before these Duracell's. Don't remember the brand name but seemed to work better. Not a fan of them getting dimmer like that, and they eat batteries. Ni-Cads save money but the voltage is lower, and don't think the light warrants the expense of li-pos.

The minimum lumens of the three Cree's combined are under 6,000, so 12,000 is also a "happy thought figure", to be honest. Closer to the truth (max output IS 4000/LED) than Chinesian values but most likely not what one gets out in the field.

It’s definitely not 1000 Lumens. I own one that claims to have a “XHP90”
    I measured the LED. It’s 7.2 MM. So it’s clearly a 70.2 LED.
This light I own is SUPER BRIGHT. In fact it beats my Horiyas with 12-16 T6 LEDs.
This light can easily push 3000-4000 REAL AMERICAN LUMENS. I tested this with an American XHP70B. And the light outshone it.
Chinese’s companies are jot fake like we think. I’m tired of people stepping down on them. All of our “American” products come from them anyway...

Available for around £20 with batteries and charging lead. Why pay more t use a flashlight that depends on outdated film camera batteries that cannot be recharged and can easily be snatched out of your hand?

Got the 50W XLM-P70 today. It's nowhere near the size of the one posted in this video. It's closer to the size of the middle one. I opt'd for the dual 26,650 lithium bats. Came in a plastic case with snap laches and foam. Very tiny from what I envisioned, based on it's power ratings, and online video's. We'll see if it's worthy of $40 shipped from ChiNah! After charging 9 hrs! Oh, instructions aren't in any other language than Chinese. So I'm going to recommend the U.S. stop putting instructions and phone answering services, in other countries language. We need to quit being so polite to our enemies. That includes American liberal's. They just aren't worthy...
