It may seem that everything has been said - played - in metal, that the snake eats its abdomen.... OiJiJiJ NO! Two-three days ago I accidentally bumped into this band and this album, they pour honey into my ears until nice. I hear here Immortal - At the Heart of Winter, some mini touches that I associate with Shylmagoghnar. Vocals... electrically great! The drummer makes a pulp on the turns, and those "straight" passages starting with the snare drum are just epic. What the guys do on guitars they pulled from distant galaxies. Seemingly simple, seemingly trite and the truth is that there is beauty in simplicity and these guys have captured it perfectly. Of course, this is just my opinion, because as we all know "there are large breasts and small breasts," "One likes Katie and the other likes Mary" :) Great job Gentlemen! Thank you! I feel like I did when I was a kid in the 80s hearing something like Metallica's Call Of Ktulu for the first time. I can list on one hand the amount of music I've heard that's given me a "This is extraordinary." Feeling deep in my gut. This made the list.

This really is a titan of an album. Hard to believe this is their debut. Together with the new Dvne album, 2021 is proving to be an excellent year for metal! Absolutely breathtaking.

Amazing Art! Traditional formulas yet so fresh and majestic! Progressive and brutal at the same time! Melodic and trippy.... sophisticated and adventurous. Tune in with the right frame of mind and this album will take you to worlds beyond! Eternal respect to the creators of this Art!
A friend sent this to me and my first reaction was: "Damn, that's some good album art". Then I played the first song with a pretty good impression until the clean vocal started - I was just blown away. The rest of songs just flew in and I felt as if they lasted a few minutes instead of 5-10+, the entire experience was and still is transcending! Golden Pits is total insanity mashup and I can't get enough of it. However, what shines the brightest (and that's a statement considering every song already shines like a supernova) is Safe Across the Endless Night. I feel like no words would do it justice so I'll just leave it at that and that it instantly became one of my top 3 favorite songs ever. I can't even imagine what we're going to get in the future considering that this album is "just" a debut.
I'm completely addicted to this album. I just found it like 2 months ago, and 4 of the songs have already moved up to the very top of my most played list. Above songs that I've had on my phone for years, and that's with me trying not to overplay it to keep it fresh. But I've been listening to the full album at the very least 3-4 times a week. The first week I got it I listened to it all the way through twice a day. You guys are absolutely amazing... basically like crack cocaine for my ears 🤣

Jón Aldará is a hidden gem of his generation. I love everything he does/(did?) with Barren Earth and the quality here is no different. Me likes this a lot.

Not bad, not bad! Clean vocals really impressive. Am I the only one who thinks that clean vocals sound similar to Hamferð vocals? I even thought that both bands have one vocalist, but then I googled and found that I was wrong. Few days ago I was driving my car and listened to this Iotunn's album - it's really outstanding. One of the best albums of the year I suppose.
This is beyond what i could have expected to find this year, it rhoroughly blasted me out of existence for an hour, thank you so much to all the guys that wrote this masterpiece of art
Thanks Iotunn and Metal Blade for being so community oriented! This album is a true masterpiece. At times it's just epic, then black metal, then I feel strangely reminded of Deep Purple (and their epic 10+ minute songs). Don't know how to summarize this piece. And, being a nihilist agnostic atheist, guess which song I fell in love with.
This reminds me a lot of Eternal Storm's Come the tide. this has better production but I prefer Come the tide's musical direction. Overall I quite like this, but will need to listen to it more before i have a verdict. the album does need more breather sections though. it's a bit overwhelming as is.

The scale of ambition is enormous here. Reminiscent in that sense of albums like Atlantean Kodex's 'The Course of Empire'.
