Interesting. Thanks for sharing all this deep dive stuff with us - we’re digging around right now too. This was actually quite a deep update. Deeper than we thought… Last gen 2019 Intel MacBook here.
Are you able to get the stem splitter to work? I have a 2018 intel Mac mini. No ChromaGlow or Stem Splitter. Though it tells me I can't get ChromaGlow and it doesn't mention StemSplitter.
I haven't seen too many videos about this. Im glad that you've tried. When using the new Drummer you have to think more. The new Drummer has more parameters that can be adjusted to taste. Drummer was due for a change. It still seems to be missing a world beat component. Same issue with other Players. I have to admit I used the Bass Player for a project. Plugged him in and got some pretty good ideas before replaying the track myself😊
Thanks for sharing this. Exactly the information I was looking for and requested in a comment on your previous video just a few hours ago :-). This gives me a lot of encouragement to upgrade my Mac OS to 13.5 (currently 12.5) and Logic to 11 (currently 10.7.9). Hopefully all the 3rd party plugins will work with it.
Dont know where to put this question but i have a problem with the drum kit designer using it with v drum input mapping. In this input tom 2 and 3 are the same. Somehow tom 3 is routed to the same sound as tom 2. I play with the roland td 17. You can try it for yourself without using the electric drums bij just clicking tom 2 and tom 3 in the daw. Maybe you have an good way to fix this. Best regards Jurgen
I just got an M2 pro mac mini. Kind of Inconvenient that you have to switch to rosetta for some plugins and out of rosetta to use the stem splitter and ChromaGlow.
Yeah, I know that keyboard short cut but I had my typing keyboard stashed further back than I liked under my controllers and figured I would just click with the mouse. 🤣
The new drummer is much less usable than the old was. The UI for tweaking tracks (not mentioned here?) is a serious step backwards. I also wanted to try a completely new song with the drummer and I couldn't get it to do any fills at all. Not sure what's up with that - making changes the intensity and fill knobs changes the beats, but not the fills at the end of the clip like it used to. And.. as others mentioned the new drummer sounds very dead and static compared to the old one. Worst part - once upgraded there seems to be no way to downgrade! At this point I would stick with the old version if you rely on Drummer. Seems like a huge step backwards.
You have some good points. Ironically i found the old drummer a little too loose sometimes. The stiffness of new Drummer is welcomed. I feel Apple should have left old Drummer in Logic 11 and just let us choose which would be best for our projects. I dont think it would be that much of a programming issue.
Is there anything different with the Milti-Channel kits?? Got alot of projects in the works with Multi-Channel-Drummers and wondering if I have to worry...
When I first heard the new one I felt like I was being asked to mix someone else’s project but I knew I was going to have to take off a bunch of plugins… it has grown on me a bit but I prefer to mix drums a certain way and it’s going to involve more work. 🤷🏻♂️
I usually use the unmixed+ professional drum kit patch. This is one with multichannel and the extended selection of instruments in the drum designer (bd, sd, toms etc) but without any plugins in the channel strips. So if they kept this in version 11, I would hardly recognise a difference.

"Now we just need new kits, expanded kits, and loads of new genres!" Yeah Brother!!!
I’m enjoying the Logic 11 update so far.

The scripter MIDI effect has a drum remapped preset you can use to line up the drum kit designer with the V drum input mapping.
Hey thanks for your responsie but that doesn‘t do the trick. If i load in the scripter for v drums. Then also the GM ain’t right no more.
Logic is great. I hope they do more work with the stem splitter, and add more samples…(jazz muted trumpet).

I spent a few days exploring extensively and don't understand some people's complaints. They may not have looked through as thoroughly.
A tip for you, X Live: switch directly from a solo-ed track to another: Option+click. It works with mute as well.

100% agree. I'm seriously considering downgrading.
intel users chroma glow is replaced with phat fx instead
Oh awesome! Thanks for that info.
I can't find the tambourine settings I used for the old drummer. The new tambourine does not make the same sounds. Where have they gone?
What's a good alternative to Chromaglow? Fabfilter Saturn 2 maybe?
....can logic drummer use custom wav samples?it would be nice to have an option to replace the snare, kick....regards
You can use any instrument with the Drummer Track and so it could be a Sampler with custom samples.
Convert to midi then assign notes to any sounds you want😊
Thanks !
Hi, is there a way to change the Beat sync on the Logic’s Arpeggiator to FREE Hz/ms?
Side question here, is there a way to name the drum part names for external instruments in piano roll such as Superior Drummer?
Is there anything different with the Milti-Channel kits?? Got alot of projects in the works with Multi-Channel-Drummers and wondering if I have to worry...
Should be fine but I never suggest upgrading in the middle of a project.
Channel name update coming soon?
Oh probably. 🤣

Old one sounds better in many regards
