    If you run in gravel, add some sort of rock guard. My Rocket fan only last one or two packs. I printed a guard and put it on a cheap fan. Ended up having to add some tiny rubber spacers to keep the guard off of the blades. So far, so good.

      Good idea, gravel is always breaking stuff. I try to avoid it if I can

      @@rcilluminati26 I pretty much solely run gravel. My RC’s look like crap.

    Really good tip with 6V - take from the receiver. It is not in any manual or guideline that is possible to connect ventilator there. I bought also 35mm fan(WP3510SH from HobbyWing) and bought also longer servo cabel(because it had only 70mm cable) for the fan and they did not have 2 pin on the stock. Its working okay for me. Your aluminium looks better, but it takes month to deliver into my Country so i must take what shops have on stock :-D

    Thanks.
    Can hardly find 35mm fans.
    I have bought a HRC one. It's all plastic though.
    I'm getting my car on Friday. They are not available here in Germany yet.

    • @rcilluminati26
      @rcilluminati26  2 года назад

      It’s not a common size for sure. Plastic should be ok, it’s supported by the aluminum cradle

    Good video. One thing I've noticed about your videos is that the audio is very low. Even at max volume in the video player it's hard to hear you on a phone or mobile device. Maybe something to think about in the future when mixing your videos.

    I would ad rubber o-rings as spacer, to add some vibration dampening.

    • @rcilluminati26
      @rcilluminati26  2 года назад +1

      Could help but you would lose some heat transfer to the fan body, maybe not a big deal though.

    There is a official Traxxas fan holder and fan, I think #3474, but hard or not yet to get. And imho Traxxas prices are ok. But nice video. First I thought, I could connect it directly to the ESC.

    As a brand-new Sledge owner, your videos have been super valuable! Thank you. Which batteries are you using? I just barely caught a glimpse, but can't quite make out the model of Hoovo you are running. I can't find a good battery combo (either one 6s or two 3s) that fit the battery tray. I even sanded the underside of the battery tray cover to provide an extra 2mm of clearance, and I'm still having battery fitment issues with my 6000 Hoovo 6s.

    • @rcilluminati26
      @rcilluminati26  2 года назад

      I have a few different brands. The Hoovo in the vid is just a 4S. Their 6S 5200 seems to be a good fit so I'm going to order a few of those. Its difficult to find a 3S pair that arent too thick.
      I really like the latch system so I'd rather not modify it to a strap like some are doing. I'm also runnung the same 6S in a UDR so that limits my choices even more.

      Is there still no solution for 2 3s batteries that aren't overpriced traxxas batteries??

    Thank you for making this video. It was very helpful to me. I just ordered a fan and some m2 screws to mount it. Please keep the informative sledge videos coming. I would love to see how you set up the suspension, and I think the fan in the vxl6 is pretty weak too. I think I'm gonna put a better one in it as well. Do you think droop screws would be a good thing on the sledge? Thanks again. You the man!

    • @rcilluminati26
      @rcilluminati26  2 года назад

      Thanks, more videos coming as I figure this truck out. I think Droop screws can def help getting the ride height dialed for any kind of track type driving. I’m going to try some sway bars too.

    Thank you. You are one of the more helpful RUclipsrs, especially among the Sledge's hype.
    Do you recommend sway bars?
    My use case is not high jumping but desiring stability in large, rough fields. Avoiding rollover. I'm new to this level of power.

    • @martins2657
      @martins2657 2 года назад +2

      I have the same opinion. Videos are one of the most usefull for the people who wants to buy Sledge or already have. Subscribed also. And also have the same question on sway bars :-D

    • @rcilluminati26
      @rcilluminati26  2 года назад +2

      Thanks, I appreciate it.
      I would def recommend trying sway bars. They make a huge difference on most cars. I’m planning on trying some myself. I’ve also been experimenting with them on my rock crawlers.
      I’ll try to get some good video comparisons with and without sway bars.

    First thing good job with your videos. I have seen most if not all of them on the Sledge and I feel that at this price point none of what you have done should not have to be done by the costumer and this just seems to be way to common in the rc industry as whole .

    • @rcilluminati26
      @rcilluminati26  2 года назад

      I think its just a price we pay for convenience of RTR. Factory workers are going to miss things but I guess a lot of people would actually build them even worse if they had to do it themselves.
