The Father's Business is Obedience

The words in Gospel of the Finding of Jesus in the Temple are the first we hear from His Majesty, the Word Incarnate, Our Lord Jesus Christ. He said He must be about the Father's business. What is the Father's business but obedience. It is, in a certain sense, the mother of all virtues. It stands at the head of the book, says King David. Obedience is what makes Faith possible since, in order to believe, first hear the voice of God and respond to it. Then Faith, the foundation of all virtues is given. Obedience, that is, Blessed Mary's fiat, made the Holy Family possible. The obedience of Saint Joseph kept the family together. Obedience is a powerful thing. Mary might have talked to her son, about what had happened in the presence of angel Gabriel. Or Jesus knowledge of the Torah, and prophets would have given him sufficient knowledge as a natural man; to realize his connection to his God; his Father. Wist ye not that I must be by my Father ? The temple being the house of his Father; an house if prayer (not a den of thieves) Jesus would consider it a place (closer to) his Father. At least until John 20:17; *Hebrews 9:24 appearing in the presence of God for us. p.s seeing that the old manuscripts donot contain the words "about"; and "business", I started to think on the context, more so. And of course the scroll of the Torah being there; and respecting the "elders", one could reasonably conclude he felt closer to "Him"?

Those that hold that "only in the catholic church do you find graven images forbidden by Yahweh and an abomination in his sight...." do not understand the Catholic Church, nor do they understand the commandments....
