    I'm so grateful for this video, now I understand Mohr's method and Volhard's method.

    Do you have any tips for improving calculations hsc questions style
    Other than doing past papers
    How did you learn to calculate in general in chemistry what was your basis

      We feel as though with calculation type questions, the calculations are usually not that difficult themselves so it comes down to conceptual understanding. This seems to be especially true with ICE table type questions

    For Mohr's method isn't silver chromate a red-brown precipitate, not light pink?

    • @ScienceReady
      @ScienceReady 2 года назад +1

      Silver chromate by itself is indeed red-brown. However, in the video it appears to be light pink because it is mixed with other coloured substances in the flask e.g. silver chloride which is white.

    In the Volhard's example, you put n(SCN) = 0.0005, but then put n(Ag)excess = 0.005. Did you just make an error writing it down the second time?

      Wait nevermind, I figured it out on my own.

    WHat about Fajan's method?

    • @ScienceReady
      @ScienceReady 3 года назад +3

      We will make a video on this in the future. However, we want to reiterate that you do not need to memorise these examples of precipitation titration. Mohr's and Volhard's methods are picked simply to demonstrate what precipitation titration is.

    Great video! it's a shame that I only found this now.

      Agree! This video was uploaded a bit more than half a year before. Most of the student have already graduated since then and they were not lucky to have such videos on RUclips during their studies:)
