As a play on words, the original artistes titled the song with the Chinese proverb for "sound beyond (the) strings", which was originally an analogy for words within words, or implications in speech. By changing one of the characters in the proverb (弦外之音 = 弦外知音) its meaning changes to "soulmates beyond (the) strings", all while the proverb still sounds the same thanks to the homophonous nature of some Chinese words! After ripping out all of my hair thinking of an appropriate translation for this, I settled with "Resonance", for the reason that in a musical sense, a "resonant" sound is usually heard beyond a simple flick of a string. In the meantime, only a soulmate who "resonates" with us can understand the implications of our words in any given situation. A decent translation I hope...

In a world so large and vast, she had never imagined she would be lucky enough to find someone who would understand her struggles and share her pain together. Fate had given its blessings, allowing them to form a connection that would last for a lifetime.
