Ahh, this is the best instrumental version I've seen of this song! I would also like to ask if I may use this for a cover please? (With full credit of course!)
I didn't imagine that such prolific use of inversions of major seventh chords would work as well as one of the most memorable songs from this game. If it weren't for the fact that Dark Souls has already ruined other RPGs for me, I'd play the shit out of this game.
I think they are actually rootless minor 9 voicings. This is emphasized especially by the diatonic movement from one minor chord to another a whole step below outlining a key signature but the 9th wouldn't stay so it's a modal progression.
@@schlomopork5323 Could you clarify what you mean? I'm trying to learn about this stuff. Because the (supposedly) rootless m9 chords on the intro don't fit the diatonic progression of the little D#m > Fm7 verse part, it seems to be modal? Or did I understand it wrong?
@@cosmostupid123 coming back to this I see the first chord is a m7(9) voicing with the root (1-7-9-3-5) and then the second chord suggests probably another m7(9) a whole step down without a root. It just seems more likely that it's in a phrygian?/aeolian mode because of the minor pentatonic melodies and a 1 to b7 with minor chords mostly fits the decription of phrygian? but a regular phrygian 1 to b7 would have a flattened 9th on the first chord. It is indeed modal because you cant move M7 shapes by whole steps in a diatonic key.
No. It's called When The Moon's Reaching Out Stars, here's a link ruclips.net/video/mZu_aiAyC5E/видео.html EDIT: Iwatodai Station is actually the music that plays in the dorm, but I'd love to see that too.
OldSchoolCoolGaming um, you're the one who thought it was Iwatodai Station in the first place so calling me retarded is a bit of a stretch. I'm just reminding you that Iwatodai Station is a different song, but your comments have not made any sense anyway. To summarize, both of those songs exist but are different and I'm not retarded just maybe a bit half asleep at times. and I do spell Aigis the correct way, that's the English spelling of her name
I meant Aigis is the correct english spelling, they probably just spelled it that way to make sure it was unique or something, I know it's spelled correctly in Japanese but I'm following the English character name instead of the word
@@cuckoophendula8211 I know I'm very late, but they're specifically C#maj7no5 and Bmaj7no5. When you take out the fifth, the chords become more light feeling and are more open. P.S. @@yeasstt OHHH! Thanks for that! Even though I haven't thought about this comment for years, it just so happened that I've been trying to learn jazz chords again to play along with some Jamiroquai songs recently, and wondered what the "no5" meant. It didn't occur to me that it meant "no as in NO" rather than "no as in number" lol. And yeah, I'm someone who's played classical piano on and off throughout my life to the point where I could play songs by Lizst during my prime, but just had cursory knowledge of theory (only took a 101 class way back in college). Nowadays, any theory I casually learn is by kind of working backwards, which may not be very efficient, but is admittedly fun, haha.
Hi! I tried PMing you on YT here but the system is a little weird so maybe you didn't get it. Or maybe I couldn't find the response you sent back if you did. YT's PM system is...eh. But anyway, I just wanted to ask if I could use this song for a vocal cover, I really liked this rendition. Of course, I'll credit you in the video/description. If you aren't okay with it, that's perfectly fine as well!
The chord in the intro is too jazzy thicc for my pop song ears to catch it. Thanks for showing it here
Accurate as heck B!👌🔥

+atomsk Thank you so much!
nice job figuring out the chords

Truly sad if you think Dark Souls is the zenith of all RPGs.

Dark souls is not even an rpg dude.

I made a non piano midi of it through converters
Do you think you could do some of the Persona 3 songs? I'd love to see Moon Reaching Out Stars
it is a song, it's the one that plays in the overworld

Oooh you did this too! Amazingness! If possible, I'd like to ask for permission to use this for a vocal cover also ha ha ^^ I love this song!
YorozuyaNeesan2010 Use all the songs you want. I'll upload more soon™
You can also edit the midi file to remove the piano playing the melody.
Thanks again!
+atomsk Hello! Just to let you know I just PM'd you ( just in case it went to your spam folder)
As someone who likes to play songs by ear with absolutely no jazz background, can someone teach me what the names of those first two chords are?
Cuckoo Phendula I think they are the second inversions of C#maj7 and Bmaj7
atomsk
Oh wow, that was actually pretty enlightening. Because of you, I inadvertently now just learned about inversions with 7th chords :)

+atomsk Yeah, YT really has a weird and unintuitive PM system that's unfriendly. But okay, much thanks!! :)
You Got The Sheet Music For This?
Yes, first link in the description.
