I appreciate your dyi! I love saving money. Great job! They sell a lid to keep debris from getting inside the water reservoir but I bought a shower cap at the Dollar Tree and I works and water can get through if it rains. I use plant supports from amazon but like your idea. Thanks for the inspiration.
What a great idea to use the shower caps for the debris! Thanks for the tips! And thanks for taking the time to comment and appreciate! Hope you have a wonderful gardening season!!
Thank you so much. I will be using both of your ideas when my greenstalks come in a few days. The watering system, trellis, and the shower cap covers. I did a trellis for my buckets with Dollar Tree mop handles and hula hoops that I saw on a RUclips vid. Seems to be working as my eggplants and cucumbers are grabbing hold.
Thank you for sharing this! I watched your "Greenstalk tips & tricks" video and - even after growing in Greenstalks for years - I learned a lot. That led me to this video. Wow - the bots finally got something right! I love your DIY's for watering and trellises! I never thought of growing beans in the Greenstalk; that's brilliant! I currently have 3 Greenstalks. 2 are *completely* full of strawberries, one was all lettuces & herbs. I say "was" because I ordered 2 pink ones (you can only imagine how much my hubby will love that) during their Mother's Day sale. The new ones will become leafy veggies, chives & scallions, and herbs + the overflow chili peppers from the raised beds my son made for Mother'sDay last year. The old one will be filled with root veggies & dwarf tomatoes because our 3-year-old *loves* picking "tiny tomatoes" and eating them by the handful. Our house sits on 5 acres that used to be hay fields. The soil is so depleted and *so rocky* that it's going to take years of work to get it "growable." So for now, we are limited to raised beds &/or kiddie pools (which are wildly expensive to fill with soil) or the Greenstalks, which grow more with far fewer bags of soil. Happy growing!
🤣 My Google heard you!!! 😂😂. It thought I wanted to turn off my speakers!!! I like that watering system and I think I’ll build something like that for times I plan to travel! Thank you!
Oh tell me about it. As I was editing the video, Google kept interrupting me and trying to help! I am traveling in a bit, let's see how they do. I will have my son keep and eye on them though since Stuff happens in these automated setups. They are definitely not set and forget!!
LOL our greenstalks look similar. I've got some bamboo in lower tiers, then made a "teepee" using stakes in each pocket of an empty tier, and some twine binding them at the top. I am totally going to steal that garden staple idea, because my beans are going CRAZY. Also, I am interested in more details on your smart water system! Ty for all the great tips.
The teepee sounds like a really neat idea! And yes, I will do a future video on the Smart Watering, it has made my life so much easier, and I can water more on those extra hot days without leaving my couch!
@@GreenLove1that right, I ask earlier if you had a timer on your system but you have it tied to Alexa. That will be interesting to learn. Please share.
@@SuperBre94 not terribly. I think it's because I watered too frequently. I need to dedicate a tower just to strawberries so I can water it at the right frequency!

Do you have a timer on your water system?@@GreenLove1
Really love the tips for self watering! And planting potatoes along the bottom of the greenstalk is such a great idea!
Glad you liked it 😍
Great ideas!
Glad you liked them!!!💚
Great video
So glad you liked it!!
I love the garden staple trick! I'm going to run out and try that right now on my greenstalk peppers. Thanks!
Very helpful😊

@@SuperBre94 I do need a video on it. Several people have asked!
I like your diy. I do have greenstalk irrigation systems 2 to be exact but have another
Do you like the GreenStalk watering system? Anything extra special about it that I need to consider in my DIY?
I like it.but it’s basically for the taller green stalks. None for the 5 tier. I would have to cut it down to size.
@@alicearroyo5910 oh, interesting
What variety of Strawberries? They look really hardy and vigorous. I am in Zone 9B California central valley. Great video content. Thumbs up.
Much appreciated!!! I like the Albion strawberries the best. I hear Seascapes are pretty good too.
@@GreenLove1Are those strawberries sweet?
