The thing about trends is, are people willing enough to spend that much for resell? Trends tend to die quickly nowadays. Ang nanotice ko lang when stuff like this happens is people tend to find cheaper alternatives (not fakes). For example, when Sambas were the trend, people would look at Puma Palermos, Onitsuka Tiger shoes with the same silhouette or another Adidas samba-like sneakers like Gazelles. So for comfortable running shoes like On, I still see people looking at Nikes that are on sale (even though they are not performing as well in other countries), etc. But when companies make it more available and flood the market like say the Panda Dunks or the Sambas, for some reason nawawala yung kagustuhan ng tao and the trend just disappears
A large amount of people DO go for fakes nowadays if they don't hit retail. Resell is down because there are no end users to sell to. Aside from runners and lifestyle sneakers, UA's are readily available. People got tired of nike and other sneaker stores creating fake hype.

Hello Sir Carlo! you probably won't remember but I got a chance to say hi and talk to you for a bit last year sa Mitsukoshi BGC. correct on the hype, that's how shoe game is right now.. a lot of inventory everywhere (except for maybe collabs and the really limited ones). I remember 4Ds before, and right now you can buy it for like half the msrp na lang..
I bought my first pair of On Shoes the Cloud Vista on the PH website, I hope no one buys these at resell prices. I've bought another 3 pairs during my visit to the US outlets a few months ago, they are a bit pricey but not overrated. I've was able to take over 20k steps in Disneyland and my feet did not feel any pain, so they are worth it IMHO.
Definitely not overrated but expensive. For me it’s worth it, the Cloudmonster V2s are not just good running shoes but are exceptional walking shoes as well, unlike my Adizero Boston 12s, great for tempo runs but not that good for walking.
i agree with your take from the previous video, though i think calling those 'overrated' is valid too. On isn't something i would consider if i wanted to take running seriously. that brand, Pop Mart, etc-they're part of the current wave of statement pieces more than anything else. it's reminiscent of trends like Ultraboosts and vintage tees a few years back, or even Beats in the early 2010s. you see them everywhere, the market becomes oversaturated, and eventually, they grow on you (for better or worse). personally, i find the midsoles on those hideous. the brand feels like it's already at its peak, and i wouldn't be surprised if its popularity fizzles out by the end of the year. but hey, when it comes to sneakers, opinions and tastes will always vary. to each their own.
I think similar sya sa trend ng boost, although I think ON are more comfortable than the ultraboost. :) Also parang mas maramin ladies that are into ON than during the time nung hyped-up pa ang ultraboost.
But the thing is, the hype is a barometer of the desirability. So pag wala na yung hype, then for a lot of people it’s no longer desirable. So those who really want it now, ayaw na nila yan pag saturated na.

In the US, ON sneakers are popular but I think HOKA is more popular. I love my ON Cloud Surfer and if you shop around you can get them at a discounted price around $100. Just have to pick the ones on sale and certain colorways.
Glad to have bought my cloudtilt at retail price. I went back and forth to their store in SM North Edsa until they had stock. Kahit papaano hindi ako nagpadala masyado sa hype 😂😂😂 BTW, madami dyan s Greenhills ng UA/Reps na On running shoes lalo na yung clouldtilt at half the price.

Here in the Philippines what irks me is that for the past 7 months, most if not all of the sneaker resellers turned into POPMART resellers. Like when you visit there physical stores is like 80% displayed is POPMART stuff (Labubu, Hirono, Crybaby, etc). Yet they are branding themselves as shoe store. Guess they are still recuperating dozen of their loss with unsold dunks and sambas.
Hi Carlo, I disagree with your thoughts. On literally has retail stores here in the Philippines. All the models you can buy at retail, there is no "premium" as that would only apply to shoes above retail. There is only a premium in reseller stores like aftermarket which lets be honest, preys on uninformed people who don't even want to bother google that On has stores in the Philippines(SM North, Aura, etc). They are not overated and are very comfortable and packed with innovations. Are they expensive? So much inflation happened since 2016, J1 lows are already at 10k, New Balances at 10k, Asics 8-9k. Its pretty much at average price now.
is it just me or overpriced talaga sa aftermarket? 2 weeks ago we asked for a vomero zoom 5 panda in aftermarket and the guy told us their retail price is 15k. even sa get nice store 9k each. then we looked for a legit seller sa meta market and I bought one to a friend of a friend with just 6k lang. And I remember also I bought my nike dunk low SP St. John for 10k and after I bought it we saw the same shoe na malapit sa exit na 7k+ lang.
