  • Since moving from the UK to France, Limoux has become a home for just under 6 months every year.
Here is a short video of a walk around the outskirts of the town centre and a brief look at the Place de la République.
See if you can spot my 3 favourite bars!

I visited back in 2014 and enjoyed a nice pint of Guinness in an Irish bar, the owner tried to sell me a house! Came back a couple of days later to enjoy the market and a very nice lunch in the square, I seem to recall the train fare from Carcassonne being very cheap. I will return and make the town my base for a week or two.

Hi, thanks for your comment. The Irish bar was shut for a couple of years but has recently reopened but just as an ordinary bar. There have been a few restaurants changing hands in the square but they are all open despite Covid and you can still get a bus or train into Carcassonne for 1 euro!

Le Tivoli? the place with the Red Barrels? ? the last place before you turned the corner at the end. What a beautiful little town, I love the river, bridge, and all the areas where you can eat outside. Adorable

Thank you Carol. The bar with the barrels was Le Commerce, one of the first bars I went to before moving to Limoux.
