- Hurricane Helene brought devastating floods that caused many people to evacuate their homes, not knowing if they would still have a place to live after the storm. The damage left many North Carolina families in disbelief and disorder, however the volunteers of Samaritan's Purse were the first people to come in and bring peace to the place we call home in it's toughest time of need. As many people are still recovering after Hurricane Helen, we encourage you to serve or donate and help us continue to bring the face, hands and love of Jesus to those in need across western North Carolina.

I had an opportunity to serve the Lord through this Ministry in 2020 when an EF 4 tornado hit Seneca, SC. This is an amazing, trustworthy organization.

@@sandib3793 I wasn't making a statement about everyone everywhere though. I was referring to the folks in the video who are Christian and American, and who are the ones helping survivors. All the churches picking up the slack, no matter the denomination. It makes me feel filled with the love of Jesus Christ to see them working so hard to help those in dire need and I wanted to say something nice to those volunteers. It wasn't a slight against non-Christians or non-Americans and it's sad we can't say nice things about groups doing the Lord's work without someone taking offense. It's like some weird, unwritten rule that Christians can't be praised but that is exactly what I wanted to do. In anycase God Bless the volunteers!

Hearing good things about you guys. I think you are one of the very few charities worth donating to.
I have as well. So that’s where I decided to donate too. I pray for the people affected and thankful for those who are physically able to help. I truly wish I was. But I can give. Thankfully
We are grateful for the thoughts, prayers, and help so many people are giving us. Primarily state and local governments. We have yet to see many FEMA agents where I am. It is the civilians with pick up trucks and chainsaws that are rescuing people from remote areas of devastation. Thank you all for your love!

I grew up in Madison, VA. In 1995, we had a massive flash flood after weeks of steady rain here that refaced a huge portion of the county, probably the most precious portions of our county near the mountains, in the valley between all our most beautiful hills. The National Guard had to come in and fly many of us to safety. Giant boulders bigger than I could imagine were carved from the mountains leveling everything on their way down, and many of my friends lost their homes. This was a time before cell phones in every hand, and on tap news. We thought life would never be the same again.
But, we were able to survive and rebuild, and you will too. I know that right now it seems like it will take a very, very long time. But it will happen faster than you realize because of the willpower and ingenuity of country folk, the power of your work ethic, and your faith in Jesus Christ. Better days are on the horizon. If we could do it up here in Madison, you can do it there too.
