    Intricate work. At least all the wiring is relatively accessible compared to some boats you work on. I'll be interested to see the final result after lots of work by you.

    Love how you did that acrylic work. What is the white backing tape you mentioned? I'd like to see if I can try that for my boat

      I honestly am not sure the exact type but it came from the shop that made the panel. I told them what I wanted to do and they made it with the white backing tape for me. Call around to local sign shops or if you have a CNC acrylic place near you. I think it was just white vinyl in a big roll. 😊

    You did all that wiring on the Contender?it’s so damn pretty I would want that hinged panel to be clear acrylic so I could look at it and show it off to my friends…it’s that well done

      When I was at Quality it was 189 an hour and Marine Max is 199.

    Looked like their was exposed wood where you trimmed the openings, what is your process for resealing it? I use to use epoxy to wet out the wood, what’s your thoughts on that?

    • @JustinLeeMarine
      @JustinLeeMarine  2 года назад

      That is a good idea. We usually seal it with gelcoat. It works and we have tons of it around the shop. Epoxy is also good. Probably better really. Anything to keep it from the elements. 😁

    So why does a stuck open thermostat cause an overheat issue? It would seem it would cause the engine to run too cool. I have heard that thermostats are designed to fail open. Don't know if that true or not.

      Good question. Water works both ways. If you let it out to fast it will not grab the heat and if you don't let it out fast enough then it will build to much heat. It has to have the right amount of flow to help pull the heat out with it. Hope that makes sense. 😊

    Was this the boat hit by lightning?

      Yes. This is the one from the previous few videos. Finally got the panels and hopefully will make good progress this week. 😀

    That’s gotta be a $20k repair/Reno. 100 hours at what $125 an hour? What is the pucker factor first time you drill into a dude’s fiberglass?

    • @JustinLeeMarine
      @JustinLeeMarine  2 года назад

      It will be more then 50K with parts and labor. Should turn out good. 😊

      This boat was hit by lightning. We already replaced most of the components so why not do a little custom work. 😀
