for smoke / volumetric / light "overlays" it's better to just have ones with black backgrounds so you can easily unmult it (idk if capcut supports that), it's basically a keyer but instead of keying out a specific color, it keys depending on the luma channel (how bright or dark that pixel is). this effectively gives a way way more cleaner look for smoke or any volumetric type explosion
a simpler way is also to just set the blend mode to screen (be wary though that if you want to do advanced compositing, blending modes do NOT give you an alpha channel for transparency exporting.) this is why black backgrounds for overlays like these are the way to go!!

Something I would try to make this better is go onto the explosion effect, adjust the part that shows individual colours, and make it so the green saturation is at 0, so it's grey instead (that could help get rid of the little green outline on the outside of the explosion.) I do not know if it works, it is just an idea.

They have different versions, like mp4 etc and some a green. However try the black background one, tap ‘blend’ then ‘filter’ and it should hopefully work just as well

I’d you want to cut that out, download the overlay version of the explosion with the black background and tap ‘blend’ then ‘filter’ and it’ll look better. For whatever reason it looked weird for me when I did it that way this time but it usually works fine. I may need to update capcut
