The sad part of this division is that most soldiers in it ( At least those who weren't Officers ) were no older than 19 years old. This division was almost entirely kids!
They were tough fighters though, held the British off for a month.
No older than 17 years old actually. The oldest members of 12th SS Hitlerjugend outside of NCOs and COs from 1st LSSAH were all Hitlerjugend born in 1926. The Panzer Division was formed in 1943, making the oldest conscripts 17 years old.
No, they were no older than 17 years old. Yes, they all were kids. Shame on those who recruited them and shame on those who fought them.
Child abuse on a monstrous scale!
@@hkg207 While PzGr Regiment 25 definitely saw first action in April 1944, their panzergrenadiers were 17 when they were conscripted in 1943. That is still younger than the typical conscription age of 18, which by comparison was the legal drafting age the soviet union would conscript from in WWII.
@@renataostertag6051 I wouldn't blame those who fought them, only those that sent these kids to die. Unless you have evidence otherwise, the Brits, Americans, and Soviets weren't to know they were fighting kids. Those who indoctrinated them, and those that sent them in to die are evil on the greatest scale.
Shermanator: *Avoids the name by any means neccessary*
Vulcan: "What?"
Oh I love you :D
I didn't have an ad on this video
I had a game where the firefly demolished the enemy phase A armours, which is definitely fun and worth it especially since it scouts for itself.
hope they will add other SD44 divs as well in time like 1st ss
Thanks for the video!
Maybe a multiplayer match with this division?
Grille works good as a phase C card, if you bring in 6+ of them to the same spot. They demolish everything then in their range.
Ill have to try that. I would have thought armor would wreck a grille platoon.
This might be a dumb question: Do fighter/bombers gain speed after dropping their payloads?
Yes
so tje reason the firefly is in tje recon tab was becaise it was historicly assigned to the recon unit
The Feldgendarmerie here aren't here to stop people from being disheartened and running away. They lower the fanaticism and prevent constant charging with fixed bayonets. Very important.
Wow, that game was really intense..
like this one, looking forward to looong team gameplay video with this one ;) ;)
Hopefully I'll have one up soon!
When will they add using the 210mm rockets vs enemy bombers? Probably would be either too op in game or a waste but it would be fun
Why has Eugen included included Panther tanks in the HJ roster ? The division's Panther Battalion was still working up at Mailly-le-camp at the time of the invasion and did not join them until after the Normandy campaign. HJ had to rely on it's Panzer IV H's alone.
Traktion fast car - use for sneaky A phase Panzerschrek fast ambush unit at the start
Also now Opel Blitz are 80 km/h. Is that a decrease?
in SD 1 many tank have their commander model in the commander's cupola, why did it the dev remove it ?
My God, SIX 1-point tank slots. That infantry availability definitely hurts, though.
What happen if a never surrender units got pinned and then a normal units come in and get also pinned after. 2nd units will surrend to the fanatical then ?
Good question
Cool!
21:15 - Unfortunately they drastically nerfed availability of halftrack mortars.
Childrens goes to war... Yeah!
Volkssturm
@Gappie Al Kebabi What about Children's Crusade? Sent children to war since 1212
replace leader units - drop the one from the infrantry tab and take one from arty instead.
Can you tell me how the radio works like do you put the unit with radio near an target and they’ll just be more accurate?
@@thatnnja241 it allows for corrected artillery shots. This means that certain arty units (marked with an icon - in this division you can see it in the mortar half track, Hummel, s.FH 18 - etc.) can fire more accuratly and with significantly faster aim time within a certain radius.
This radius is projected by most leader unit, arty observers and some arty units of (like the mortar half truck) - these also have a corresponding radio icon (check the card on the pionier fuhrer for example)
It is advisable when going heavy on the arty, to have something near the front that can provide radio bonus as HE can be a real killer (you can easily kill the heaviest units in the game with a few direct arty hits)
Forestmarko thanks a ton man
I would't bring the supply as you can get "free" supply trucks for your 88s and artillery
Actually vulcan, G1 has worse agility because mediocre is worse than very bad according to eugen
Yeah, you are correct. Always catches me off guard.
Ivan Buncic What
The hecc
Any counter to this monstrosity?
How come after all this time we still see Waffen SS troops with regular Heer uniforms. Pretty lazy imho. Also, Wittman was part of the Leibstandarte division, not the HJ. The shield on his tank is the one of the HJ. Did HJ even field Tigers, I do not think so.
Wittmanns Tigerunit was not from the 1division, it was a kind of independent heavy tankunit who fought with the 12 division at times. The shield on his tiger shows the double crossed key symbol, thats correct done. But you are right with the uniforms.
Wittmann's Tigers were supporting a 12th SS Panzer counter attack when he was killed. His unit (Schwere SS Panzer Abeilung 101) had the crossed keys with oak leaves symbol on all their Tigers. The HJ emblem was a single siegrunen "s" with a key through it.
Eh... the fanatic trade seems game breaking... take them in at higher vet and dont use leaders
cant with the lack of infantry cards
Isn‘t mediocre agility worse than very bad agility?
No it's better
Why would it be worse lol
My favorite div. tanks...tanks everywhere! Moooohahaha
This Division doesn't look broken at all.
David Patterson no
/s
The Wirbelwind is a mobile flakvilling with enough armour to stop PTRDs
Oh yesssss thats tasty
Straffniky should have a similar trait, they were not allowed to surrender.
I hope and expect that they will add the trait to a few units in other divisions where it makes sense.
With NKVD, or some officer supervision perhaps, but that mechanic is already in the game. If no one is watching they surrender - Straffbatalions of the Germans are direct counterpart. For the equivalent of HJ fighting until the end on their own you would need some die-hard commies, something like combat NKVD, if stuff like that existed.
@@jankubala659 NKVD units did fight actively. Although they were pretty bad if I recall. Still might be cool though.
@@iileross8398 Thanks for the info. In that case, EugSys could add a combat variant to the one that is counterpart to the feldgendarmerie.
should not wittmans haw the nummber 007?
Spähtrupp is pronounced with a regular T, not a th like you're doing.
So I shall spend my money on already existing divisions who where just transferred to SD2 ??? This is so dumb...I can live with SD44
And you don't even get it with history pass, mind you. Honestly ridiculous.
So you think everything is over after the Treaty of Versailles?
It's continue with "globalization"...multiculturasism
Did'nt you know/understand?
Poor you! You will see at the end, then you will understand but then It's to late! Sorry!
