    Down in the Sewer. Is just such a majestic track, but the whole set is great ....from the most powerfully creative band ever...don't pigeonhole the Stranglers... they don't fit any genre.....they are just one of the greatest bands ever!

      Ha. Punk for ornery and socially awkward folk. Drunk and drugged 'potentially violent' types. Great band, too. Distinctive and timeless stuff. They could play well but weren't proud of it and bugger off if y'aint into it!
      I continue to love this crqp.

    Simply without question. The greatest BBC live session EVER recorded.
    Any true musicians would agree.
    Brings a whole new meaning to the word "tight" Insne perfection!

    What an awesome set, can't believe that its over 43 years since I first saw them... the music ages well, unlike with some very good bands of the past.

    Love this recording. Hearing The Man They Love To Hate with the sound and energy of their earlier style is really something

    Forever grateful to my mate Tony Havis, who in 1977/78 turned to Heavy Metal and gave me his Stranglers (first three) albums. I was hooked from then on. I've seen them in all their formats over the past 40+ years, and hope to see them again in the new year, Covid permitting.

      @AudioAmmunition  3 года назад +3

      No, it's from the evening show, perhaps Mark Goodier. They recorded 2 Peel sessions in 1977.

      How could you say that, Tom? The first track is from 'La Folie' (last LP of theirs I bought and still listen to). 'Nuclear Device/Genetix from 'The Raven' (which has plenty of great songs) and 'Down in the Sewer' from the first LP. I hear three Stranglers phases - the worst phase would come with 'Feline' into 'Aural Sculpture' then into 'Dreamtime.'

    • @TomTremayne
      @TomTremayne 4 месяца назад

      @@alaintremaine3302 You clearly know more about the Stranglers back-catalogue than I do. I sort of meant this was their worst phase or there abouts or maybe this is full of tracks that or the poorest from certain stages. I'm not sure.....am a big Stranglers fan up to a point. Anyway, thanks for your reply.

      Stranglers fueron innovadores. Es una fase diferente de su carrera pero no peor. Cuanto más viejo me hago más me gustan sus discos menos "punk"
