In the LN, Rudeus was actually supposed to end up on top, and then Roxy starts her whole "we can do it" dialogue. She doesn't say "leave it to me," she goes on a whole tangent trying to talk him into it and he caves. He wakes up and thinks to himself just how much he fucked up, and says that he was too rough with Roxy, saying he let out his frustration on her in the process. There was also a bit before where the rest of the party is talking about how to deal with Rudeus, since he hasn't been eating much at all or leaving the room in the last 1-2 weeks, and Roxy finds out in that discussion that Rudeus is married. The morning after, Rudeus also tells Roxy about a "fictional, made up" story which is basically his past life and not being at his parents funeral, saying the man in the story reincarnated and regretted what he did but couldn't go back and make up for it, and asked what that man should do. Elinalise also pushed harder on telling Rudeus to keep Roxy, going as far as to tell him Roxy's "monthly visitor" didn't come during the 5 week journey back from Rapan (it should be obvious she was lying, though, since that dialogue was cut).
we're missing two very big scenes in this episode and I'm kinda pissed at it. First is the description of what's gone on since last episode, it's been a long number of days and Rudy has not been eating - it's why he looks gaunt at the start, he's just been sitting in his room not talking with people and only barely drinking water - and we're informed of all this through a conversation the whole group has where they talk about "helping" Rudy, Elinalise is asked if she'll do it and she won't because of Sylphie, this then brings up Rudy's marriage and Roxy freaks out over being flirty with him, it really would've helped to flesh the episode out a bit Second part is again with Elinalise and it's her manipulative nature of suggesting to Rudy that the one time he was with Roxy got her pregnant and how she was going to have to raise the child alone, if he'd allow that or not. Again it adds to the episode and would've made his decision of having a second wife a lot better on the face of it.
While I wish they didn't cut it. Im ok with how they did. It allows the focus of this episode to be more on Rudy and Roxy's relationship and less about Elinalise's manipulation on her front. Also they need to make up time if theyre going to end the season with a specific scene.
@@aerostorm_ For the most part I am too, they cut out important parts but what they kept in held the meaning of this part strong. If they screw up the next episode tho, that's where I'll say they fumbled the ending.
As an anime only I would have loved to see roxy's reaction but the Lina part I think it was good to be kept off, I wouldn't even be surprised if it was the author himself who said to cut it off. As for the time passing I understood it with the hints along the episode so no need to waste time. Looking forward the last ep and im loving the season
@@miguelpires7489 Yeah if they do the last episode justice (and they should if they can) it'll be a damn banger. Tear jerker alright but a banger of an episode.
Nah, im on the fence. i enjoyed this episode. Seeing online baby mode mald is peak cinema. For me, these people keep trying to apply real world problems to a work of fiction that is insane.
Not to defend Rudy and Roxy , but the guy had been depressed and not eating for days/weeks. He was really not in the right state of mind to think. Roxy also was supposed to know about him being married, guess they cut it to make her less dislikeable by the masses. All things aside Rudy was going to die if left alone so they were desperate. It was still cheating ofc but it was better than the other alternative.
Roxy teaching that new [Recovery Magic] learned from: Marvin Gaye:🎵Sexual Healing🎵 & KISS: 🎵Dr.Love🎵 Roxy locked that door with INTENT. 😏 [Click, Click, BOOM] If anything, the discussion should be about Rudy NOT following Sylphie's reccommendation/expectation to acquire a "Concubine", and adding a "Wife" instead. The difference is distinct enough to be a point of potential friction, even among the general populations of the world's NON-Millis adherents. Also a mark for Rudy's development that he has to be pushed in that direction, by multiple people, rather than diving in as his fantasies would have led him to believe. (Literally she has to throw him into bed, climb on top and exert Ara-Ara energy .... very much like Eris did) Remember Rudy already proposed to her and he was only 5, and Roxy did NOT say no,.. she said "Ask me again when you're older." 🫡 Polycules in fiction are easy, but confronting the reality of one requires work.
That´s gonna be a bit much news for Norn next week I assume. And the lost arm is the least of the worries. Paul is dead. Mom is alive but in a vegetative state, probably for the rest of her life. And Rudy got a second wife, which is just great for the Millis beliver Norn. All in all, Rudy probably did not hit her expectations on that journey.
I mean, and I know this sounds very, very wrong, but I think things would have been better had they left Zenith. I know this sounds horrible, but considering that pretty much everything that might have gone wrong went wrong...
Cut content spoiler from the light novel about an important scene for context: Lis actually tells Roxy during the time when Rudy is very depressed that the only thing she could think of to snap him out that she could guarantee was a woman and she was unwilling to do it. At this point Roxy was well aware of ihim being married but also knew the level of his depression was so bad that he might actually not survive.
absoloutely not, I'm an anime only and I've heard about what was different and I think this is 1000% better because it makes rudeus more of a redeemable and respectable character, it just goes ahead and shows how much he learnt how respectable he has become... Anime done perfectly and I was absoloutely immersed all the way, I don't care about all the skipped details and scenes etc. When I hear about them I just see them as immersion material and author wrote them as possibilities of what could happen in the series (mostly). Now is not so necessary since anime immerses you perfectly thanks to do voice work, music, composition and all the visuals and the plot direction is definitive so additional detail there or not the series is still awesome.
@@servhasvids that's debatable, Rudy isn't any more redeemable here compared to LN. Cheating is cheating, but he was not eating and barely drinking for a week, which brought him to this state. I'm not complaining about the anime adaptation, but some more context would have done no wrongs to it.

As anime only I think they did good. I'm not mad at roxy. I can tell things were missing and a lot of time been passing by. But I understand.

I personally like that they removed Elinalise's lie about the pregnancy. I didn't like that in the novel. It removed agency from Rudeus.
Elinalise : I became Roxy's bestfriend before I became Sylphi's grandmother.
(Both of them are important to me)

Didn’t princess say that if Rudeus betrays Sylphie like that they would take her away from him? What an idiot 🙄
Pero no es traición porque no se lo oculta ni pretende ocultárselo, además de presentar razonables argumentos ante su primera esposa.
No she didn't say if he betrays her, she said if he made her unhappy and she chooses to leave him then they'll take her away from him
