Well, the drama is based off a book which is 100% gay. Lan Wangji and Wei wuxian are married in the book and well, there are scenes. XD. So censorship in china has them as "besties" but they gay af.
They do get married in the novel, and they already share a son, but it's not really a "guy guy" drama. It's a story about mob mentality, and about injustice. It's about families, and people. It's about war, and the crimes on both sides. It's about revenge, and forgiveness. There does seem to be an unholy amount of fratricide, and for some reason everyone is related to Jin Ling, but the romance is just a part of it
