    This was so real! I Really Need to hear this. I’ve been doing online content for teachers and parents here on RUclips but really want to branch out to working with schools. I’ve been a curriculum specialist for the last 5 years so I have the experience but finding the steps to getting my first contract is my struggle so hearing this was deeply felt. Thanks.

    This is so insightful, thank you for sharing! I'm happy to see you look healthier and that you kept going!
    When you talked about persistence it reminded me of the parable of the bible to keep asking and knocking!
    And then you went on to say the importance of committing your business to prayer! I was like wow i did think you were Christian before you mentioned that!
    I'm a teacher but would love to design curriculums.
    I wonder If you have any examples of how these curriculums look or even a day in your life video?
    I will look through your channel anyway xx

      Hi Shola! Thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave such a positive message. We have actually been talking about creating a day in the life video soon. It will probably come out sometime this summer. If you have not already, make sure subscribe to the channel so that you do not miss when it is released. Also, be sure to check out some of the other videos here on the channel. We integrate my curriculum and books into many of the videos that we create. Here is one about a children's book that I published last year: ruclips.net/video/Yc9PNN4EN74/видео.html

    Hi Meghan,
    Thank you so much for your transparent and candid video! You truly are an inspiration so much so that even now I’m considering becoming a curriculum developer. I had a question regarding the qualifications to become a curriculum developer. Do you need your professional certificate in teaching to become a curriculum developer? I’m about the get my master’s in curriculum development and instructional technology and I originally did it as part of my professional certificate, but I’m not really sure if I want to become a teacher in a k-12 school anymore. I was also wondering if it was necessary to have teaching experience to be a curriculum developer?

    • @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom
      @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom  2 года назад

      Hi Jade! Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, you do need to have a teaching license to work in curriculum. Most of the companies I contract for will not hire unless you have a valid teaching license. I also always recommend that curriculum developers have some teaching experience first. You cannot truly understand how to create curriculum and teaching materials until you truly understand the needs of students and teachers who will be using them in the classroom. The only way truly understand these needs is to spend time in the classroom. Good luck to you!

    I am not sure if you have made this or not, but I would love to see a video on how to format an email to reach out to these companies about jobs.

      Hi Laura! Thanks for watching and commenting! That's a great idea! We may have to do that soon. When reaching out to companies, I keep things simple. Usually I just include a few sentences expressing interest and attach a resume, cover letter, and examples of my work. Hope this helps!

    I wish to thank you for sharing your experience and give advices to people. Please! Can someone who did not teach in classroom but did a study in education be a curriculum developer?

    • @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom
      @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom  3 года назад

      Hi! Thanks for watching and commenting. It is possible to be a curriculum developer without teaching experience, but I do not recommend it. You cannot truly understand the needs of teachers and students without experience in the classroom. I always recommend that people spend at least a few years in the classroom before moving into curriculum.

    This is medical information that we should begin teaching children from age 5, so if their parents or anyone smokes, they can tell them to stop or never stop, and hopefully it will stop most/all of them to never smoke. We should. And change the whole entire education system because it’s antiquated, and is is very hard to change worldwide, but nothing is impossible! Younger brains can learn more. Children should also start learning 1 or 2 or 3 languages. Plus it’s ridiculous to start teaching people who want to become doctors at age 21-22-24 etc, that’s just harder on people to start learning medical stuff which have big almost unpronounceable terminology. Plus why let people choose later in life if they want to be something in the medical field, we should force all people into that field, because education is by force now. And that’s what people should have been doing for hundreds of years, if not thousands of years. Let’s look at education as a large Beast that is hard to change but it’s not impossible. Nothing will change if we don’t start trying.

    Why does she intentionally omit the letter "g" when saying verbs like "teaching"? Is this the proper way of speaking English?
