    Thanks! I just got the Iridium plugs, Thanks showing me how to install them. Now gotta learn what type of ratchet I need. I am not that lame but havent touched my bike for the past 25 years and my memory well...I find parts very hard to get like the rubber gaskets, have a 1994 vs800 and love it

      @@tonaherrington9862 Right on sister!! Or in your case "RIDE ON!!"
      I am so glad to hear that you're sort of taking over the maintenance and care of her. Little red sounds like a damn good bike. And she's probably a very good fit for you! Don't let your boyfriend bring you down. Sometimes guys get very insecure or even threatened by a woman that can turn a wrench to loosen or tighten a bolt, which is pretty ridiculous because literally anybody can do it. If any bolts get stuck or jammed, spray a little bit of PB Blaster or WD-40 and let the soaked in for about a minute or two. Then try gently turning them again. Another thing you might find to help her run a little more smoothly as some carburetor cleaner. If you get a small bottle of that and just dumped a little bit into her tank, that will help clear any Gunk from her carburetor that might be causing the popping and rough Idol. I certainly hope this helps, and definitely let me know how it went! If not see them, I would definitely love to hear the results! 🙌

    I always use a towel over gas tank to prevent scratching when removing covers , you can also use a seven to eight inch rubber tubing hat you would stick the spark plug onto and it will fit snug, to screw back on prior to tightening. I totally love the Suzuki interceptor 800 and 1400, Japanese know how to make good and maintenance friendly bikes. Peace.

      I'm glad you found the video informative. Sadly I have any others at the moment. But on the good side, that's because I haven't had much in the way of any issues with it. But it is a very easy bike to work on. The only thing I find very interesting and kind of a pain in the neck about it, is the location of the battery (which is down at the bottom just next to the rear wheel). Most bikes have the battery underneath the seat. So I was kind of surprised by that.

      @@markthompson9684 Absolutely! Greetings from New England! This Suzuki Intruder is actually a very reliable bike. The only problem I ever had, was getting a flat tire on my way home from a ride one day. But other than that, I've never been stranded with it for any other reason. Other than when it's cold, this bike fires right up every time. As long as you keep up on oil changes, swapping the spark plugs on occasion like I did in this video, and making sure that the tires have plenty of air, it's a very terrific bike. The Suzuki Intruder comes in a lot of sizes. The one you're seeing in this video is an 800. But I also have upgraded to a 1400. The larger the engine on the bike, the smoother it shifts and bless you have to roll the throttle to give it gas. I went from a 250 to the 800 in this video. And now I've jumped from the 800 to a 1400. And it isn't just a super reliable bike, but it's also a very comfortable ride. 😎

      I had heard that several owners on utube had carb problems and they were a nightmare to resolve.
      I guess that all bikes have problems now and again and I don’t think it’s a typical problem with this model.
      The bike I’m looking at is actually a trike, so a little different again.
      Thank you again and ride safe

    • @SteelCowGirl4Ever
      @SteelCowGirl4Ever  Год назад +1

      ...."Beaker bar?" I think you mean (breaker bar). Did I not do well enough explaining it in the video? It's useful because of the flexible head on the end, making it much easier to handle spark plugs that are deep-chambered. It also gives me more flexibility to turn and maneuver the wrench without coming in contact with the tank or the frame, and possibly chipping the paint....😑

    why did you park the kickstand on a block of wood? i love the colour of the bike! also, i would have liked to have seen a close up of the used plug just out of curiosity

    • @SteelCowGirl4Ever
      @SteelCowGirl4Ever  2 года назад +1

      Greetings! And always glad to answer a question. I use a wooden block so that the kickstand doesn't leave an indent in the pavement. It's also a lot easier to work with the bike not leaning so far to one side. Otherwise, it's a crappy angle to work at-especially if you're doing a spark plug swap. Next time I'll definitely do a close-up of the used spark plug. It wasn't too dirty and burned out looking since they were still relatively new (by my standards). But nonetheless they were already showing some ware, and weren't threaded in very tight. But for the most part, I was just being picky about performance, and wanted some "fancier" plugs. LOL
      But I'm pretty sure the only difference between the two types is the actual lifespan.
