  • On our annual "Pilgrimage" to the yearly Alchemy festival we always look out for the Horn OK guys........seeing these guys always feels like seeing a dear member of our family (Indian Street Food family that is).
Horn OK Please have taken their name from the ubiquitous Indian bumper sticker and sign written message which can be seen on trucks everywhere on the roads of India.
The stall itself gives us a little glimpse (and taste) of what an Indian Street Stall is like because they serve up popular favourites such as Moong Dal Masala Dosa, Samosa Chaat, Masala Chai and Bhel Puri.
In previous years we've also seen them serve up Mumbai Juhu Beach style Pav Bhaji and Kolkata style Egg Kati (Kathi) Roll- the links to these videos are below.
On the day of our visit we had their Samosa Chaat which consisted of the following:
A large Punjabi Samosa (lightly crushed)
    Chana Chaat (Chickpea Curry)
    Mint & Coriander Chutney
    Date & Tamarind Chutney
    Sweet Yoghurt Sauce
    Red Onion
    Sev (crunchy Gram Flour Noodles)
    Fresh Green Coriander Leaves
    Pomegranate seeds
These guys have perfected and mastered the "art of dosa making".......as always, all the dosas we eat from these guys are absolutely delicious, we would go as far as to say that these guys are "Dosa Making Master Chefs".
These guys are inspired by beautiful Mother India and the wonderful Vegetarian and Vegan pavement kitchens that provide sustenance for its many inhabitants with the cheapest and tastiest of freshly made food anywhere. Not to mention the street characters creating food that is blessed by hand and human touch and further energised and charged by positive thoughts.
You'd be forgiven if you thought that this is a Indian Street Food stall (or "Lari") somewhere on the busy, bustling streets, beaches or restaurants of India - astonishingly these guys were making these Indian treats in the heart of "Proper London" - making them freshly to order and serving them piping hot within a matter of minutes.........delicious restaurant quality food; but at affordable street food prices - with no service charge added !!!
Unlike some places there is nothing hidden and no secret to the recipe because everything is made in full view of customers, as a bonus; in this video we are also shown how to take to the seeds out of a pomegranate very easily.
You can go many times to India and love it every moment of your time spent there, (but you're always sad in the knowledge that India only exists in India and nowhere else) the sights you see, the sounds you hear, the people you meet (in India); all serve to feed you not just physically but also emotionally and spiritually. So when we come across a guys such as this we humbly raise our hat and take a bow because they have not only given us just a snack but also given us a taste of back home.
If you can perhaps recall that we have caught up with these "Dosa Wallahs" in previous years at the very beginning of our vlogging journey - here's links to videos we made of them then:
Southbank in London on Sunday 25th August 2013: • Indian Street Food - C...

Horn OK Please can be found serving dosas' at various locations, if you are planning to visit them; send them a message to find out when & where they are trading.
Here's links to Horn OK Please's social media:

A special thank you to Gaurav and all of the Horn Okay Please team who very much welcomed us and graciously allowed us a privileged glimpse into their kitchen to do the videoing even though they were extraordinarily busy.
This video recorded on various days in May 2018 at the Alchemy at the Southbank, Waterloo, London as the Southbank Centre Square was once again transformed into a magical, bustling Indian Street Food market.........it was truly a feast for the senses !!!
We are a little saddened that the annual festival "Desi" Indian street food market is this year only for 5 days and is taking place from Thursday 3rd May to Monday 7th May 2018

I backpacked with a friend in the fall of 2019 and when we passed through London we ate at this place. My friend is vegan, i'm not. Him told me that him would eat this vegetarian indian food and i could find some other place else in the diversified Borough Market. Options would not be lacking. But i gave a chance e followed him in this. It was my first time prooving indian food. What a choice! Became my favourite meal in the entire trip. The Tikki Chaat was beyond delicious. What a meal. Horn Ok Please: someday i will back there…

Indian vegetarian is the Best in the World and You are absolutely right eating such food does not just satisfy one's appetite but also the soul !! It is an emotional journey ! The Moong Daal dosai is Actually a South Indian Delicacy Called Adai and is made with Moong Daal,Rice and does not require the amount of fermentation a Normal(Urad Daal and Rice) Dosa requires! Adai is usually quiet a heavy Dosa and is usually accompanied by a little jaggery and Coconut chutney! There is also a Green moong daal Dosa which is an Anddhra Speciality called Pesarattu !! Yum !! Loved this Episode Sir Thank you!!
