fabulous footage....and a very credible version of Hitchhike by Steve Alaimo. Glad no one fell off the boat in Boston Harbor...it looked cold. Please post more!!!
Can you imagine how much money he could have made when "Town Without Pity" was featured in The "Original" Hairspray as well as John Travolta's Comeback Movie "Look Who's Talking". If he wrote it he would have gotten Songwriting Royalties. He also Wrote "He's A Rebel" and although it was originally done by The Blossoms (The Backing Vocal Group on Shinding), it was a Hit for The Crystals. I even heard that "Every Breath You Take" by The Police was inspired by "Every Little Breath I Take".
Gene didn't write "A Town Without Pity." He did write "He's a Rebel." In any event, he (or his estate) would have to have retained the rights to the songs. A whole lot of artists sign away those rights, often for very little money, particularly in his day. Ask Paul McCartney about trying to buy his own songs back from the Beatles era...before Michael Jackson swooped in and bought the library.
Who was Georgianne? The original Action Kids girls were Jill, Jeri Lynn, Roberta, Lesley, Joy, and Cathy. Cathy left the series early in 1965, and Joy left by the end of that year.
This is GREAT!!! BUT--I want the WHOLE DOGGONE EPISODE!!! This is a grand beginning, though!! :) :) :) :)
Gene Pitney was a great singer and writer! R.I.P,
Gene Pitney was a brilliant singer / songwriter with a fantastic, distinctive voice ... This is my favourite song of his ... Wayne
Memories of being young and carefree. Miss those days.

Great video for Gene Pitney from 1966 singing "It Hurts to be in Love."
A great Gene Pitney song! The guy who did the scouting for the locations did a great job of coming up with different places to film the songs!
Steve Alaimo GREAT
I watched most afternoons after school.
Great Gene Pitney.
Steve alaimo was a pretty Soulful singer
And he was responsible for the late Betty Wright’s career..

The Vietnam War heating up exponentially.

Looks like everyone's havin' a great time on that wet, cold boat. Should'a checked the weather....
That is my favorite Pitney tune. I miss Martha and The Vandellas singing backup on "Hitch Hike". At least Steve Alaimo looked hot singing it.
There were six chicks in the action kids, Jill, georgianne, Jeri Lynn, Roberta and the Beautiful Leslie Evans. Who am I leaving out?
