    Thank you for differentiating the two words drink an have. They are commonly used in everyday English but you have differentiated them simply and clesrly. Now I am quite familiar with their context, I mean where to use this or that. You are both doing a great job figuring out some subtle and delicate words in English. You both rock! Keep up the great job! Cheers!

    This video helped me with the meaning of drunk, I was not sure how to use it, instead I used to say intoxicated. This lesson helped me with the pronunciation of drink and drank too, I was using the wrong i for drink and the wrong a for drank. I have to admit the a in drank is still a challenge.

    Hello Kevin, first of all, thank you for doing this kind of program cuz it really helps a lot for non-americans who are learning the English language and pronunciation,... but I guess I need to raise some things that bothered me, and right now I'm in a state of confusion,... I'm referring to the part when you said "DRANK" similarly pronounce like "SAY" or "PAY", ... when I check it out on several dictionaries, the vowel sound for DRANK is the same as the vowels for "CAT", "BAT", "CHAPTER", "MAN", etc... so there is my confusion, and I'm sure, several people might be in the same situation... I'm hoping you can create a video texplaining this matter, thank you.

      @@mrmememe777 Thank you for your prompt response, one more thing and this is important to be noticed, ... you said the vowel sound of the word "DRINK" is the long "e" like the "GREEN BEAN",... but when I check it in several dictionaries, the vowel sound for the word "DRINK' is the same as in "TRIP", "DRIP", "TIN", etc... not the long "e" which I think it follows the rules... why is this so?.. Thank you.

    I am a retired Cuban teacher of English. I taught English for medical purposes to fifth-year medical students for 36 years. I am also a big fan of your interesting videos, but today as I was watching this, your explanation of the pronunciation of the word drink made me feel confused when I heard you say the initial sound of the word drink should be pronounced as that of the first sound of jump, so, why do authorized dictionaries such as Merriam-Webster´s and Oxford only transcribe it with the initial sound /d/ instead? Please enlighten me on that please. Thank you.

    was/were + participle isn't the same as got+ participle is it???
    I was ( not got) born in 1999, I got (not was) married in 2020 and my first baby got (not was) born just after two years, yes he was (not got) born in 2022....is it ok, correct????

    • @mrmememe777
      @mrmememe777  3 года назад +1

      With "born", always use "was". I was born in Dallas, TX. "Got" is used with mostly bad things: got arrested. got killed, got shot. There are a few exceptions: got paid, got vaccinated.
