I *had* this super cute one that lived up to 12 years. She still had so much energy. She didn't bark much and she was content being picked up. Was actually very well behaved. Bless her soul, rest easy now. If there is a dog heaven she's with her sister now.
Some people over baby them and forget they're still a dog. Dogs need training and all to often the control the household because they were allowed to. All too often they end up in shelters and rescues.

My neighbor has the stereotype kind. She nips, growls and barks at my little girl and to a lot of other people...I used to have very sweet Chihuahuas that never did that but my neighbors dog is making me not like the breed anymore.
The type of dog never matters. It’s all down to the people and environment that make an animal the way they are. Of course personality but that only goes so far.

We spayed and dewormed but still ended up with 5 that we had to take in when temps dropped (and pup loves them because they're young enough that they still want to play with him).

In most breeds you can tell they’re a puppy because their paws are big and you say they’ll grow into them. With Chihuahuas it’s obviously the ears they grow into. Adorbs
