    I have been shooting mostly film recently but with how expensive it is and only getting 8 shots per roll on my GW690 I decided to get an X-T30 which just arrived today. Having enjoyed the 40mm ff equivalent focal length of the GW i wanted to get a 27mm lens for my new fuji. I jumped on RUclips to look for some reviews and without even needing to search your video was the first one in my feed and for the exact lens I was considering!
    I wanted to thank you for your video as now I'm certain this will be a good buy. Like always your content is a pleasure to watch with beautiful images and chill vibes. I'm glad I found your channel a month or so ago and subscribed.
    Keep up the great work!! I hope your channel grows much bigger soon. You deserve it. ❤

      I know exactly how you feel with the 8 shots per roll, it gets expensive really fast! I love my GL690 but I have been shooting a lot more digital because of the cost. I really appreciate the kind words and I hope you enjoy the new Fuji x-t30, looks like a great camera. This lens makes a great pair on Fuji cameras, small & compact. I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the videos, Thank you for watching & subscribing, cheers!

    Hello from Tucson, AZ. Found your channel thru Matt Ruderman's channel and subscribed. I shoot with the Fuji XT-30 (a very capable camera) and was caring around too much glass. So I simplified down to just the XF 18-55 and the XF 70-300 that work well for landscape and wildlife shots. However, I miss the walk-around compact and discreet size of the XF-27 that I had. Thank you for the good review of the TTArtisan 27 AF2.8. I am going to give it a try for my street photography around Tucson. Looking forward to your future postings.

      Hey Kevin, sounds like we shoot the same kind of stuff. I have a similar setup with my other camera for landscape and wildlife. With your two lenses, you cover a lot of ground. I understand keeping a simple setup goes a long way, it’s hard to beat a pancake for walking around. If you already like that 27mm focal length, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the TT. Also, I’ve got my eyes on that xt-30, looks like a great camera. Thanks for watching & subscribing, cheers.

Looking forward to use it with my daily carry (a good old Xpro1 too, that I enjoy using as a digital-analogic sort of camera) since I'm already in love with the 40mm equivalent with the 27mm Viltrox and the XH2. Thanks for sharing your experience and images. Results look really encouraging ;)

Sometime It's good to slow things down and Not Rushing like most of people do Nowsaday, buying the lastest Gear X100VI LOL! and think they can make best photos. Most of new cameras are lacking character, too digital, too sharp. You should make more video about of XPro1 in street and night shoots. Keep it up!!

    I like the focal length. When I started into photography back in the day all SLRs came with 50mm prime. I switched between that and 28mm but if walking around with one lens I found 50mm too long.
    Then I discovered the Pentax 43mm f1.9 Limited (almost pancake too) This is considered the ‘true normal’. 43mm is the diagonal of the 36 x 24mm frame. Makes sense now?! For years now that’s been my favourite one lens solution until I get a Fuji and discover the 27mm - great, it’s almost the same as my full frame 43mm. Shame it’s f2.8 though - if it was f2 I’d be thrilled.

    • @alexbemanian
      @alexbemanian 8 месяцев назад

      I started with a canon ae-1 and a 50mm and felt the same way you did at first, when I got my first 35mm lens it was a game changer for me. I’ve never heard of that Pentax 43 1.9, sounds like an epic lens! It’s nice when you find that focal length that works for you and everything clicks. This 40mm really is my new favorite field of view, and this the cheapest lens I own. Thanks for watching !

    • @alexbemanian
      @alexbemanian Месяц назад +1

      thank you, i appreciate it! i can hardly tell a difference between the two, if i hadnt bought the 35mm f2 first i would have probably saved the extra money and just got the 27 instead. If i were to really pick things apart, i think the fuji has slightly smoother bokeh but its also faster at f2. But, i really prefer the design of the 27 because of the apeture ring. There both equally great, if price is a factor then the 27 wins.

    Crazy good prouction value. Keep up the work your doing an amazing job. =)
    i am currently thinking about buying a new lens (first good one with autofocus) and my money is between this 27mm f2.8, a Viltrox 23mm f1.4 and the fuji 35mm f2 (xf or xc). I have the xc 18-55 f3.5-what ever and i dont use it and think about selling it, and i have a vintage 50mm f1.7 that i almost exclusivly use.
    I think the XC Fuji will be to plasticy for my tast, and the XF is a little bit to expensive for "just" f2 have seen them for >200€, the Viltrox is an amazing deal on the used marked going for between 170-210€ and i wanted to try the 35mm look, the TTArtisan is ultra compact , relativly fast with f2.8 and has a good value with between 120 and 160€.
    I am realy split between the Viltrox and the TTartisan, also because i think, with my budegt, even in the future, the focallength are to similar to get both of them.
    I think i wont be so bothered by the bigger size of the Viltrox and happily take the f1.4.... but the small size is also realy tempting (aspacially with my small Fuji x A2)

    • @alexbemanian
      @alexbemanian 8 месяцев назад +1

      thank you, i appreciate the kind words! thats a tough choice, the viltrox looks like an epic lens and the 1.4 would be nice. I have the xf 35mm f2 and thats all i've used the past year and its been great, but I don't think i would pay full price for it like i did before. Especially after getting the TTartisans 27mm, if i were to do it again i would save the money and get the TTart 27mm. It fits nicer on my x pro being a pancake, way cheaper, and only lose 1 stop of light, i shoot mostly stopped down anyways. If you really like the brighter lenses like 1.4 and don't mind the size, the viltrox is probably the call. Good luck on your choice, either would be great. Thanks for watching , cheers.

      @@julesknebusch5643hey man, I'm also torn between these 2 lenses for my Sony camera. May I know what you chose at the end and how you feel about it?

    • @julesknebusch5643
      @julesknebusch5643 6 месяцев назад

      @@bgtcsjm Hey, [sorry for the long text, but i wanted to put in all of my thoughts, that might help you]
      I choose the viltrox 23mm f1.4, and I have to say, it renders beautiful images. But I also still really want the ttartirsan 27mm…
      I know… but as you know, it is complicated, I really like to have the option to use this 35mm equivalent (23mm) for portraits, and I like to have the added low light capability. But now that I have the viltrox, I really also want the small size of the 27mm, because my Fujifilm xa2 is a small camera, and with the 27mm It would be pocket sized, and I think I would use my camera more often, if I can carry it in a pocket, instead of hanging it around my neck or using a bulky camera bag… but I also really like the viltrox, and I don´t know if I would really benefit from a smaller lens (never had one) .
      I think both of them are exceptional values and easer of them is a great choice, it all comes down to the way you feel limited in your camera usage. If your camera is small enough to feel pocketable with the 27mm I think this is sick, but if you are more in to portraiture or night shooting, I think the viltox is the better option…
      I know it isn´t really helpful, but just to let you know, is love the images I got with the viltrox, but I still consider buying the 27mm if I see one for a good price.😅
      P.s I don´t know your camera experience or your shooting style, but I still struggle with composition using the 23mm viltrox (when I use it for anything other than portraiture), Because before buying the viltrox, 90% of the time I used my camera, I used it with a vintage 50mm manual focus (~75mm equivalent). So, nearly all my experience of composition is with a “medium telephoto”, and I really loved the pictures I got with this lens, and now with the 23mm it fells new, not completely like I never composed a picture, but compered to the 50mm I feel a little bit like I have never used a camera before, and I still struggle to see compositions as easily as with the 50mm. To my defense, I haven´t had to much time to shoot different scenarios with the 23mm, and my composition skills have improved greatly since I stared using it, but still composing with the 23mm feels less natural to me than with the 50mm.
      Just to let you know, that I if you get your self one of the two lenses, and you feel the same, you know you’re not alone 😉

    • @bgtcsjm
      @bgtcsjm 6 месяцев назад

      @@julesknebusch5643 hey, really appreciate the long reply 😄. You're spot on with regards to the small setup cos my camera is the old sony NEX-5T which is really tiny and I like that about it as it is easy to carry around and also won't make people see you as a too serious photographer 😄. And I think the Ttartisan 27mm small form factor would complement my camera better.
      Like you, I also have a vintage 55mm prime that I use quite a lot, although it's mainly for portrait due to its narrow fov on our crop sensor. My go to is actually the Samyang 12mm MF, and its really wide. But the fact that they're both on the extreme ends of the focal range (compared to my kit lens of course 🙂) and also manual, I want something that's auto and sits in the middle for street and everyday photography.
      Right now I'm leaning towards the 27mm mainly due to the compactness and cheaper price. But I'm kinda afraid that it will be too narrow for me or worse, that my kit lens will actually perform better.
