Hi guys, as always thanks for watching! If you enjoyed the video please give it a like! Other than that I hope you have a wonderful day ✨🐓
I buy good brands second hand, cashmere, leather bags etc. my costs can be as little as 10 cents per wear. I only buy great things.🤩
You are the CPW Queen ✨👸
10 cents is expensive for me, I prefer 3 😂
I've mostly stopped buying things on sale because often, the reason why I bought it was because... It was on sale, not because I had planned to buy it. And looking back, it was the items paid full price for that had the most wear lasting the longest in my wardrobe. And that's simply because I bought knowing I was looking for it, needed it and liked it. I only learnt many years later of this concept of cost per wear. I'm so glad you talk about it in your channel.
Similarly to your questions, I try to separate my fantasy self from my actual self and lifestyle. I work from home, go to the gym, run errands, go to muddy dog parks- a silk blouse or fancy dress just doesn’t fit my life. I can appreciate its beauty in the store while recognizing it’s not for me.
I will defenetly try the tip with "Am I gonna wear it 30 times?!"😀 Sounds like very good saving tip!😁
30 x = 1 month! Surely you wear your clothes more than that?
I actually decided to do a year long no buy challenge because I realized that the answer to all of those questions is a no, at least for now...I'm already half way through!
Spent so much money on clothes that were never worn over the years... the phrase "quality not quantity " springs to mind . Am 53 and don't buy anything I don't need anymore . Lovely video xx
I love your analogy of "crow brain". I laugh and empathize every time I hear it!
Wish more creators on RUclips taught the importance of mindful shopping and buying sensibly! Please make more videos!! ❤️
Thanks for the wonderful comment x
Growing up poor and only able to shop in thrift stores and clearance racks, I became the queen of shopping sales. But with body image problems and not knowing my style, it wasn't a healthy shopping habit in the long run. I had to learn the value of buying something expensive in order for it to last a long time and not have to replace items the didn't fit, shrunk, was scratchy, or just never wore. Great tips!
That’s been my experience regarding more expensive items too.
Thanks for watching! x
I have been tracking everything I wear every day since July 2019. I track total wears with additional columns to track if it has hit £1 per wear and if it is has hit 30 wears. I love seeing the 30 wears and £1 per wear columns turn from red to green!
I think I’ve actually watched this one before but it’s been a while, and your tip about training yourself to leave a store empty-handed has really been smth I’ve been trying to do lately! I actually am not uncomfortable leaving a store empty-handed in general, but I’ve specifically been practicing leaving even after trying on and finding items that I like or maybe want. And I don’t mean I’m being foolhardy and not buying things that I need, ofc, but things that r kind of in the “would be nice to have but not necessary” or “I’m not in love with it but I do like it, and it’s cheap” zone. I’ve found it’s made such a difference for me! I think I have like shopping momentum, once I get smth then I’m like energized to get more and I have to purge the feeling, lol
Everybody is seeking happiness . By the time we find it not in things, we become free of consumption triggers. I love fashion, but surely now I know where my happiness is ❤️
There was a time not far ago I would wear a piece once 🥺 and already want another. Two years on conscious journey and now I surely wear them several times .
Thank you for encouraging responsible shopping on RUclips!
Happy to be of service x
I recently decided to stop buying jeans and shorts. The number of times I’ve worn these in the last three years? Zero. If I do want to, I already have plenty, all brand new.
Great questions to ask with each and every purchase. Conscious consumption is the only smart thing that makes sense. The cost per wear is a real gauge to whether the items is worth the money and your time.
Exactly my thoughts! All we can do is our best but cost per wear really makes it worth it
I hav 5 tops in my everlane bag right now... patiently waiting! My bank account and future self thank you for this video 😋
There's some gems of wisdom here.
I've never thought of looking at shopping like this before.
Interesting
Talking about resell value when talking about costs per wear is so important! Good analogy :) 🌻
Love your channel I used to be a shopaholic but now that I'm retired and just discovered what's my style I only buy good quality clothes no polyester love linen and cotton .
I’m trying to cut down on the amount of money I spend on clothing because I am a broke college student and it’s not financially healthy for me. What works to prevent me for buying something is when I’m in the store, when something catches my eye I try to visualize myself wearing it, and where I’d wear it, what I’d do while wearing it, and how I’d look and feel in it. and if I can’t I immediately put it back. If I can, I ask myself if I’d ever realistically choose it over the similar items I already have in my closet, and about 70% of the time the answer is no. It’s very helpful.
One strategy I have is to go shopping in my closet. Often I can find better clothes for me there than I can find in the shops.
i just want to say, you literally always know how to put in words all those feelings that i go through each time I buy new clothes. My goal is to really stop buying new things and wear everything that I own and love, but it is so hard for me and I want to learn from you. Great video and channel.
Excellent tips! I really like your channel, it speaks to me more than the others out there.
I’m very very glad to hear that! Thank you x
Wish I had seen this 20 years ago! You are very wise.
I buy most clothes second hand so pretty much all of them are under 10 cents per wear now! However I go though a lot of workout clothes and those usually don't get as low before they need to be replaced
I fell in love with that warm winter vibes! ❄️
My H&M top cost as much as my Hermes bag - :) such a powerful image
I love your energy! Thanks for sharing!
Wow these tips are so good and definitely helped change my perspective.
Loved all the tips! Glad I found you on this minimalist journey!
Welcome aboard x
I decided to buy some wool sweaters, because the ones i have do have polyester in the mix and i get soooo hot, i cant stand it anymore..I will replace them, buying secondhand..I want to create a better Wardrobe 😋..xo from germany
I can so relate! Thank you for watching x
My biggest issue is the fear that the item will sell out if I wait before buying it... do you have any tips for how I can look at this problem differently?
I'll probably address this more in more videos, but you can only really practice to get better. Let something you want sell out and hopefully you'll realise (not that you don't already know this on a conscious level) that nothing bad happens when that does happen and that other things you want will take it's stead.
@Tuva A Remember if you miss out on something, another special thing will always come along.
And a lot of old collections one can find second hand online. I bought like this a lot of things i really wanted to have. One, two years later - 75% cheaper. And after this kind of delay if i still wanted it, it means it was meant for me.

Love each one of your videos so so much❤️🤗
Excellent video! Very on point. You have inspired me to start a cost per wear tally for my wardrobe and accessories. Thank you!
It’s surprisingly rewarding and teachable! x

Wow, what a great channel created by a beautiful young lady...... I declutter my wardrobe every spring and fall but still do have maaaany items. Recently I bought a bunch of new pieces because I feel like I am getting ready for a new beginning in my life and my style has changed quite a bit.... Yesterday a thought popped up in my head, you never ever must buy clothes anymore, now you have everything you need and you wanted...... And guess what happened a few minutes ago 😉😂... I was lead to your channel. How amazing is that!? Thumbs up, I love what you do..... Greetings from Austria!
Glad you found me x

I love this. I’m very much run by my crow brain and my crow brain also said “she looks amazing in that yellow shirt tho” ☺️
I loved this video so much!! Subscribed !!! : ))))
Welcome! 🤍
I didn’t realize you were married. I didn’t know how I missed this. How long? Watching this again.❤️❤️❤️
Great! Trank you!
Very helpful and encouraging 🤗
I'm very glad you think so! x
“Crow brain,” I like that analogy! 😂
I don’t think expected resale value should be taken into account, except for luxury bags and solid gold jewelry, maybe. Clothing and accessories lose all their value instantly because clothes are so inexpensive nowadays. There are many poor people where I live, they won’t pay $20 for a higher-quality used item, they’ll go to Target or H&M and get two new items for that price. My lowest cost-per-wear items are mostly fast fashion, or one level up high-street. The main thing is how many times an item is worn. That said, I do have quality standards for my cheaper items, mainly no synthetic fiber fabrics.
Fantastic video! Just subscribed! Mindfully shopping for long-sleeved pink top with stripe down sleeves. No luck yet. I can select, try on and leave a store empty-handed when nothing looks and/or feels right or I own a similar one I'm already not wearing because I have favourite go to pieces😒 Rosie 🇨🇦
nice video
Now it's about quality not quantity as a matter of fact you can buy more quality clothing to second hand and it's still in good shapes.
Ah...a few different takes on this...thank you.
I'm happy you thought so x
Hi, thanks for the Idea of the useless trinkets.
Happy to help x
💖
Hello Naja, could you allow The captain option please, as English is not my first language so it would be very useful if u allow such option , thanks for the video anyways 🌹
Hi Dina, absolutely. I always have the automatic captions on, but for some reason, they sometimes take a while to appear!
Thanks for watching x
Have always wanted a black cashmere sweater. What do you think?
I have on shopping two problems, first buy clothes smaller size and shoes big size because my size is sold out and I told my self... stop, this is stupid it.
You deserve to wear clothes and shoes in your size!
I wish I saw this yesterday before I went and bought a bunch of clothes
Return it if you can :)

I’m not sure I’m understanding you correctly by “crow brain”. But if you are talking about our attraction to shiny things and collecting them, I’m pretty sure its a magpie and not crow😁
And you would be wrong! Neither bird have been scientifically proven to be attracted to trinkets, actually, it's been disproven. But anecdotally both will steal trinkets like coins, stones etc and I grew up with crow anecdotes.
Seems like you understood me perfectly though x
Wow! You have a daith piercing! Do you recommend it? Was it painful to get your ear piercied? I was considering doing it since many say it helps with migraine and even some doctors recommend it as a possible solution... I think that it is also very cute and elegant :)
I only recommend it if you want it of course. I have one in both ears and I think it’s sooo beautiful.
I heard about the migraine thing too and I would say it’s definitely worth trying if there’s a chance it would work, don’t you think? 😊
I’ve had 15 piercings in the ears in total and this was the most painful one because it’s hard for the piecer to get inside and get a grip, so they have to pull as they pierce. But it’s over in 5 seconds, which is no time!
I think I will wake up every weekend watching this video to stop myself and my stupid crow brain.
🦅
i have bought 6 shorts in the month of january alone and have bought shorts in the past (summer 2020) that i have not worn yet. 😅🥲 i dont know why i couldnt stop. the only month/weather i could potentially wear it is August when its peak summer here in japan. other months its just too cold for me 😭 is it because im deprived of summer/hot weather? since i used to live in a tropical country in philippines where its basically various state of hot.
Maybe that and out of habit? Sounds like you're unconscious and not really in a mindful place when shopping for shorts. Like you said yourself, you can't even really wear them. Maybe it's time to set up some rules and challenges for yourself for a while regarding shorts xx
@@NajaSierra i kept thinking i might be coming home for vacation and thats the time when i could use them but then covid happened and i dont think i'l be going home soon enough 😭 i'l do some downsizing and sell some of the things i hoard
I have only 2 shorts. I live in the mountains so summer itself is short. I have a black short and 1 khaki colored short. So neutral and goes with just about every shirt and t-shirt in my closet. I've had these shorts for about 10 years. Still look like new. When I downsized upon retirement, I adopted the capsule wardrobe concept. Now, everything in my closet gets worn and I only kept things I felt great in. I no longer impulse buy. At the beginning of each year, I make a short list of items I would like to add to my wardrobe. Then I go back and look at each item and ask myself if this item would work with my existing wardrobe. Often, I decide I don't really need that item. I've become very intentional about spending. It saves a lot of money and I always feel "put together."
Crow brain!! 😂
I just watched Narnia. IS “SPARE OOM” @ 0:11 A REFERENCE OR JUST A COINCIDENCE I NEED TO KNOW
Yes it's a Narnia reference, it was my favorite movie as a young teenager xx
@@NajaSierra hahaha I love it!
Mother-in-law! I didn’t realize you were married. How long?
Watching again. How you still seeing your boyfriend?
