He was too good for her. I think he just loved all his women. He couldn't be faithful because it wasn't natural or practical for his lifestyle. It would have been interesting if he had told the truth about his love life in the last few years of his life, but he was too decent to say anything about any of his women. He had too much respect for all of them, and I think he would have been mortified and very disappointed in all the books that women have written about their relationships since he died.
