The worst thing Pakistan could have avoided was not playing the full over, instead getting out in the first 2 balls , all due credit would have gone to maxwell, but they faced the full over not able to score a single run with just 2 runs required and getting all out last ball and end up losing the game. All credits to maxwell. No worst humiliation for Pakistan cricket.
Tanvir was 10 off 13. He just needed to get a single to get his partner (14 off 11) on strike. No need for the big hit.
Once Tanvir got out, Irfan also only needed to get his partner on strike.
Because both players only attempted to go for boundaries, and failed, they increased the pressure and the team lost.

Don't care what anyone says, James Faulkner innings up the 'Gabba v the Poms 13/14 needing 25 off 10 balls was the best innings ever by a batsman to win a game outta nowhere. I still go back & watch the last 2 overs highlights & still gives me goosebumps. That Aussie sporting moment sits just behind the the Socceroos in 05 beating Uruguay in a penalty shoot out for a place in the world cup, first time in just over 35 years since we last played at the Soccer world cup. The best sporting moment that will never ever be surpassed is the men's 4×100 men's freestyle relay at the 2000 Sydney Olympics when our blokes beat the Yanks/Seppo's thanks to a come behind win by the legend himself Ian Thorpe who was 17 at the time, smashing the world record as well. That win was even better coz of one of the Yank/Seppo swimmers said the US 4×100 team would smash the Aussie's like guitars. Well our 4 boys smashed those Yank/Seppo's outta the pool.
